New Product Feature. Part 2: What do you think of our new project page ranking system?

Rewards

No YUP/tokens awarded

Hello Crowdholders!

From last week's feature push we included a new way to rank projects on the 'Projects' page. You can access this page by clicking 'Projects' on the top header in between 'Home' and 'About' or click here: https://www.crowdholding.com/project/

Some important changes have been added on our Project page. In the past, projects were ranked by the number of votes they received from their tasks. By default, projects are now ranked by how active they are. The more active the project is, the higher they rank on the page. Our algorithm gives weight through 5 main points.

Below are the points and the % of importance:

  • Amount of time spent since last task - 34%
  • Average reward amount - 24%
  • Has a live active task - 19%
  • Number of comments and votes - 14%
  • Admin responsiveness to users - 9%

We also added a search function as well as a filter. You have the ability to filter the projects by selecting the filter option and choosing different sorting functions.

Not only does this help the user navigate projects, but we also setup a notification system to reach out to businesses who are dropping or inactive for a period of time. Encouraging businesses to be active will improve and increase more content for users to respond to.

Our questions are the following:

1) What do you think of the 5 main points and the weight % we are using for the algorithm?

2) Is our weight % accurate or would you adjust it?

3) How is the filtering option? Would you use it?

Any feedback would be great! We look forward to reading your comments!

I like 5 points. I cюonsider more convenient to work with filtration. But remunerations have to be more generous., to attract more users. I am happy to be with you.

of course I will obey the rules that have been made and I want to increase my liveliness here ,, thanks

Hey guys, has a live task should be weighted way heavier. Average reward amount lower or just removed, best projects have lowest average rewards because of your weird rewarding system that punishes contributors to popular projects.

The projects subpage currently doubles the home subpage, I don't use it at all as the home subpage does the job better. You have a chronological list of projects with open tasks, except lately as you started posting airdrops (which you should stop as it isn't your job) and random notices I don't care much about, they just detract from the project list usability.

If i understood you right, you say populair projects have the lowest average reward. I don't think they meant average by user. If it is average over all tasks in total reward/task, it balances out complex tasks with big rewards vs small with low rewards. I agree with the aidrops.

Average of all tasks gives no useful information.

This gonna be a fair project. I wish so many people come and earn a lot from here. Yes! surely, this project gonna be a platform for that.

1) I think they are perfect, and I like them very much.
2)Yesterday I thought that was reasonable but today I find that the following percentage would be more appropriate:
Amount of time spent since last task - 38%
Average reward amount - 22%
Has a live active task - 21%
Number of comments and votes - 10%
Admin responsiveness to users - 9%
3) I answered yesterday and I kept my opinion

Firstly , I am happy with the filtering option as I would directly go and sort to my preferences.
I think the main goal of the weight% is to minimize the use of filters by users.
So, I believe many people want the projects which has a live active task and admin responsiveness to have a more percentage than the others and for me I would like to adjust the weight% by following,

Has a live active task - 38%
Admin responsiveness to users - 26%
Average reward amount - 16%
Number of comments and votes - 10%
Amount of time spent since last task - 10%

3) Yes i love this option

1.)
I like the 5 main points, and the % system.

2.)
I like how you have it weighted out, maybe tinker with it a bit.

Amount of time spent since last task - 34% - I would tinker with this
Average reward amount - 24% - higher
Has a live active task - 19% - higher
Number of comments and votes - 14% -same
Admin responsiveness to users - 9% - same

3.)
The filtering system I did not know about, but I doubt I would adjust it ?
Seems the default settings will suffice.

1. I think the 5 points are great and weighting them is a good idea
2. The weighting is mostly accurate but I think "has a live active task" could be weighted more. A project with a larger reward but an expired task is less interesting to me than one that is active and I'm able to get involved in
3. LOVE the filtering option

For Amount of time spent since last task. I assume that means if a project has a new task it gets higher ranking.

Its working well even in my old Chrome browser.

I think you should increase admin responsiveness percentage because it's quite important to user who sometimes confuse or need some help, so your platform will sustain great support. And I think the pop up now explaining about cookies is quite disturbing why my suggest is why just not only once every log in. Anyway great job guys I love to do task here

Why is there no filter option to filter out expired tasks?

Hello Jarnej, task list can only be found on the "Home" page, and expired task will not appear there. So there is no need to filter out something which never appeared there! :-)

1) Good points.
2) I think having live tasks should have more weight as reward amount doesn't really matter if all tasks have expired.
3) I would use the filter option mainly to see only projects with live tasks.

I'm new here so I can't see how the old system performed. But the this ranking system seems logical. I can't really comment on the percentages.

For Amount of time spent since last task. I assume that means if a project has a new task it gets higher ranking.

I wonder if there should also be a new project factor. So a new project gets a look even before a task may be added.

Filtering is great

2. maybe just add a little on "Amount of time spent since last task" then adjust the "Admin Responsiveness to user" make it lower like 4%
3. This is really helpful option on the site, yes ill use it!

This is also my opinion. An additional list with acually only yup-rewarded projects would be great.

I like upgrade keep going!!!!!

1) The 5 categories are good. No need to change i think

2) put more weight to "Admin responsiveness to users" and less on "Average reward amount" or "Amount of time spent since last task." because this two last item can be increased also with no knowledge about projects and blockchain

3) The filtering option is easy to use and personally i use it

Overall I see CH good future and a good reference for ICOs and new ideas

I think the 5 main points are what should be taken into account, but I'd give them different percentages:
Amount of time spent since last task - 30%
Has a live active task - 30%
Number of comments and votes - 20%
Average reward - 15%
Admin responsivness - 5%
My reasoning:
The one with an active task should be among the first, and that one already fits in the first and second rule, so next is comments and votes, because that's what defines activity, average reward isn't a sign of activity.
In my opinon admin responsiveness should be the last, because admin doesn't have to respond, they just have to vote the comments and decide on winners.

Yes, I will definitely use the filtering, the old ordering of the projects was very bad and without a search option I had to Ctrl + F to find a project or just scroll through.

Nice upgrade
But i need look where i comment in project
so I did not check one by one

I think this is a great concept. One question: what is the rationale for giving time since last task such a heavy weighting relative to the other factors?

Levelling one who votes I think can be good to voting algorithm, New users will have no same weihght as veteran and active users. It prevents from users abuse of having joint vote or multiple accounts.

Crowdholding is working on a new system.

This might be obvious, but is the admin response CH or the project? I also have no desire to scroll through projects to see who has active tasks. Please fined a way to denote this.

TheCrypto .Tips

I do both things that measure our entire World => UX & TA

The points are seems to be quite good choices, the weight is probably will get better by time and testing. I must have much more data to really have a clear state of how it can be adjusted. For now i can say "Average reward amount" and "Has a live active task" fills equals to me but still have 5% difference, I wonder why activity is less important then generosity.
I would definitely gonna use the filtering option, the more project you'll need more filters :)

interesting point, it could be useful to add more weight to activity and lower the others including generosity ie. reward amount.

I agree with the percentage distribution, but I would give more priority to "Has a live task"
Has a live active task - 34%
Amount of time spent since last task - 24%
Average reward amount - 19%
Number of comments and votes - 14%
Admin responsiveness to users - 9%

As for the search and filter, the search is working great! I would like a filter to show only projects with active tasks. (Or does the filter "with new tasks" have that function?)

Ethan Clime

nice look, having active task higher would adjust more of active tasks projects at the top, thus easier for the user to find an active tasks when on the project page after clicking. Cheers for the feedback.

admin response of that project, so not CH. But I hear ya, that's why the newsfeed is there to scroll through tasks. Project page is more for discovering and reading about the projects, and looking at older tasks and what respondents wrote.

Filter for new tasks is now fixed. Thanks for the fast fix, but i still have a question about the filter overal.

If i select more filters they are adding up. So what i mean is. For example with numbers..I have the numbers 1,2,3 and 4, if i look for 4 and 3 combined. It fill filter out all projects who don't have an 3 or a 4. But still leave in projects who are only 3 or only 4. So you can't make an effective combined filter. The more projects you will have on your site the more cripling this will be to the search capability of the user. So in short in search terms: it's OR but maybe it should be AND. I don't know if it's meant to work this way, but i was confused when i added a second filter and i got more results then before!

@Randy: I believe "avarage reward amount" percentage balances for spamming low reward tasks. If you lower it further it might be to rerwarding to make low pay small tasks. I don't think this will benefit quality. "Amount of time since last task" Would be a better option in my opinion or take them both down equally.

Rosario Colletti

Power is nothing without control

Look at it as if they were checkboxes (the one I follow PLUS the ones with active tasks, etc). I agree when there will be hundreds of active projects it might not filter enough... but I hope by then there will be more filters like tags/category

Elric Drost

Yes, i did notice. Now it works like this you have no way to actually filter for 2 things. However if it would work the way i would recommend, you could do all. If you look for option 1 you take option 1 if you look for option 2 also you look for 2 next. If you look for both 1 and 2 combined you can see that by having them on at the same time. Now you would have to check them manually. So it's up to Crowd Holding what they want the filter to be able to do. The confusion was the first thing i noticed, after that i figured it out. Thanks anyway for the reply, i do appreciate interaction between crowdholders.

I think that the new project ranking and features are a big improvement. The only ranking that I am not clear on the the first one "amount of time spent since last task". I don't really see why this one has the highest weight.

Ethan Clime

CEO of Crowdholding.com

the reason for this, if this goes a long time, like 1 month with no active task it hurts the weight and we trigger a notification to admin on posting a new task, but makes sense that adjusting this to less weight could be an option, especially other feedback shows to adjust this.

Just take a look at my past contributions to projects; you will see value there.

1) The 5 categories are good. No need to add or take out.

2) I think you should put more weight to "Admin responsiveness to users" and less on "Average reward amount" or "Amount of time spent since last task." The projects that have had admins respond to us have shown the beginnings of what crowdholding can truly be and that communication between user and clients is important. It should be "rewarded" with better visibility on the project page.

3) The filtering option is easy to use. CH really likes minimalist designs lol. I personally wouldn't use it since I basically only look for brand new tasks and that pops up right on the home page, but I can see it being useful for a new user that wants to find all of the currently active tasks.

Note: I mentioned this in the Part 1 task, but can we move the legacy projects in a seperate category like before? As new projects onboard, that page will become very cluttered (it already kind of is).

I absolutety love the changes, is see a lot of the feedback i gave in the results. Great to see you have been working hard!

1&2.
I think the five points are valid measure points and are not bad for small projects as it looks balanced.

I do think that the admin responsiveness is way more important then 9%. I would take that beyond number of votes and comments. But that's just me maybe, as i do value interaction very high.

3. I like it and i would use it and the active filter as the main filter is very nice. But when i tried the filter is was confused. I selected "new tasks" and even after removing the most active filter i get three projects but they don't have the latest tasks. Could you check if it is working correctly?

What i also love is to see what projects have spent at the platform on rewards for tasks! After all big rewards bring more people. What you could add, is a estimate ico usd price for the project tokens they offer. Because 1 token "x" could be worth 3000 token "y" for example.

1. It is not good for small projects or the projects those will not give a new task on the website because these kind of projects will not get too much comments and likes and that will bring at the bottom of the list. On the other side, the projects whose will update new tasks time to time will get more likes and comments and those will most of it, will be on the top. But it can not decide a project as a better project or a worst project. So, I think it is not going to work.

2. First of all we should support more those projects those are really solid and those are going to make something change in the cryptocurrency world. So, I am here to just provide my opinion, it doesn't matter who you are. If your project is a unique one and going to change something in the crypto world, I am with you.

3. This is really helpful option on the website and I often use it to filter the different projects.

As this platform is unique in it's own way that is why I am here. I would just suggest that the ranking option does not matter a lot, what matter is which kind of projects are getting launched on the website and how those projects are going to effect the crypto world and our general life.

1. I like the fact you are taking multiple factors into consideration, before it was a lot easier to manipulate. If a bunch of people upvoted on one project it would always be top. Now you are also taking into consideration the startup's role on the platform.

2. I think it's a fair, startups can get to the top giving a bit more of a reward, focusing on interesting content or been responsive to users. Before it was the amount of up votes only right?

3. I think this is a nice function as well, maybe in the future think about industries / what they are looking for? i.e. marketing, design etc.

Overall I see these changes as positive, it should create more content and have the startups be more responsive.

Weighting in voting system will cause misuse by multiple accounts users. One with multiple account users can vote to comment that has been written. Active task and reward can be bigger proportion. Overall the algorithm is OK.
