æternity's Community Building Campaign Call for Proposals: How can CH help?

Rewards

No YUP/tokens awarded

Hello fellow Crowdholders,

Crowdholding will be applying to support æternity’s (AE) Community Building Campaign, which you can read about here. They are looking for ways to grow their community, and here at CH, we can definitely help.

Our plan is to bring trusted community members to earn AE tokens for helping with growth hacking. As you are aware, we are partners with æternity Ventures and are working closely with them. Today I would like to showcase you the proposal we plan to send on the æternity forum, after your feedback for improvements. You can check out other projects that applied here

Below is the application questions and answers. Please review carefully and follow the questions at the end of the proposal:

---------------------------------------------------

I. Title - must be clear and concise

CH Community Growth Hacking Campaign

II. Summary - a concise description of the campaign. Limit this to 2 paragraphs max, no longer than 300 words.

CH is a community feedback application with 1,800 weekly active users. We would be promoting this campaign within our community. AE lacks content on all the up and coming crowdsourced publishing websites that are gaining traction as alternatives to Steemit. Currently there are 94 free websites that can be used to publish æternity news frequently catering to your target user base as shown here: https://alternativeto.net/software/steemit/

How would it work? We would create a group of Publishers/Authors that would receive AE created content (which is produced frequently by AE). Next they would publish as an AE author. Each Author would be designated to specific sites. Every author would also be designated as a commenter under the article of these sites for which they don’t publish, boosting curiosity from readers. We then track using AE’s oracle and reward the actions in AE tokens.

III. Goals - clear objectives must be set, noting the target demographics and the call to action/conversions.

Goal 1) Recruit 10-20 Authors to maintain the system being lead by CH team.

Goal 2) Websites would be selected depending on their Alexa ranking which must be under 1 million in ranking.

Goal 3) Increase % AE traffic visits and wallet usage.

Increase % - to be determined after analyzing more data

IV. Roles - team members involved in the project as well as their backgrounds and expertise, as well as any reviewers from the Board or the AE team who need to check output before release, if any.

Ethan Clime & Jonny Dee

Ethan Clime is CEO of crowdholding.com who led the building of Crowdholding and community from the ground up. Jonny Dee is an experience growth hacker for CH and the company Energi ranked in the top 50 of CMC.

V. Minimum Viable Products - list of final output

Increase % AE traffic visits and wallet usage by carefully seeing which sites increase most attention in traffic and growth from the growth hacking team. By staying flexible we can cater to what works and keep improving the growth hacking campaign.

VI. Timeline - how long will this campaign run, including preparations.

September:

  • Author applications. CH will hand pick community members to become an AE Author. We will recruit 10-20 of top applied candidates or selected community member from AE. Having members showing past active support to either AE or CH is a plus.

  • Sites will be selected and Authors will begin signing up as users on those sites and will be chosen for which sites they publish on. In addition, be selected to what sites they comment on.

  • A shared database displaying actions will be used by the AE growth hackers to track their work. More importantly, showcase daily links where content is published to have quick access to the sites article and comment under the content thread.

  • Community rules pamphlet will be created on the roles of an AE Author which they will follow as their guidelines.

October - July

  • AE will send weekly content they publish on the growth hacking database

  • Publishing and commenting begins

  • Monthly group meetings to discuss results and improvements with the 10-20 authors (recorded conference call)

VII. Milestones - divide the timeline into achievable milestones. The budget may have to be released in increments as milestones are reached.

Keep in mind, some sites are about building reputation. So each month that goes by should increase reader activity and click rates from more actions done by Authors. The milestones are the following:

(%) - to be determined after analyzing more data

Milestone 1) Increase æternity.com’s traffic by (%) each month

Milestone 2) Increase base.aepps wallet sign ups by (%) each month

Milestone 3) Increase Telegram community by (%) each month

Milestone 4) Increase forum.aeternity community by (%) each month

This means each article needs a bottom footer showcasing all four links in a 2-3 sentence paragraph.

VIII. Budget - a clear breakdown of costs as well as the total cost

Although this will need to be discussed. The reward for the Authors on the time spent for work will need to be adequate. To be honest, time spent publishing and commenting wouldn’t take too much time, as the content is given to them. The only creatives from the Authors is creating authentic short/long comments that goes under the published articles.

  • Managing the growth hacking group $ to be determined equivalent in AE tokens each month for time spent, half of the amount buy’s our YUP tokens to be rewarded for future Aepps or AE related tasks on CH.

  • Growth hackers receive $0.50 USD (in AE) for each article published and $0.50 (in AE) for each comment.

  • Let's assume AE publishes 4 content producing articles a week and each Author has 5 publishing sites and 10 commenting sites. Time spent would be most likely 1 hour or 30 minutes of their time, thus 4 to 2 hours in the week. This means $30 USD per Author a week in AE tokens. If we have 10 Authors that equates to $300 a week (in AE). Thus, $1,200 a month in AE tokens to the Authors.

Estimated budget: $ to be determined a month in (AE tokens) or fiat used to purchase AE for this campaign.

IX. Assessment/Metrics of Success - state the desired end result and how they will be monitored and measured

  • The question is how can the AE Oracle work here as a way to track and distribute the tokens? This could be an interesting use case.

  • One option is to use affiliate links to track this, thus we need an affiliate link for each of the four milestones.

  • Or allow access to Analytics to observe how each site does to make appropriate actions of improvements.

By having a increase % for each milestone. Our goal from this campaign alone is to have a high increase in traffic for AE by July 2020, equating to (%) monthly increase.

Questions to AE admins:

Would it be possible to share analytical data for the 4 milestones?
With these stats we can properly compare data from the publishing sites and identify the (%) goal. This would involve the following:

How much monthly traffic are you receiving from the listed sites from our milestone?

How many wallet signups do you have, and what increase do have each month?

----------------------------------------------------------

So from reading the proposal let us know your feedback. You can use the questions below to help.

  • So what’s your thoughts?

  • Would you participate and apply to be an Author?

  • Is the campaign clear, and do you feel it could reach good results as a strategy?

  • How could CH application be used more in this growth hacking campaign?

We look forward to your feedback.

Cheers,

CH Team

A. Every step brings us closer to perfection, and my thought on this is that this will be the fastest way possible to increase the value of aeternity and of yup and as well as providing very quality services that those products stands for.

B. The campaign is clear, in so far as the means are put into good use and also that the writers and reviewers are properly selected, I will say that this method will yield great result in a very short time.

C. There can be a voting system here on crowd holding were members will be nominated and voted for and thus writers and reviews can be selected from the vote to participate in the program, it will be a total integration between aeternity and crowdholding.

Concept sounds interesting and promising. Would like to see it up and running to thoroughly evaluate its fluidity as to a viable platform for others to utilize. Will follow to see how it project progresses.

1. My thought on this is that this will be a very great and fast build up process, because it is a project that will not take a very long time to implement and thus can be achieved in the near future.

2. I would definitely participate in such a project and apply for the application I like to write and would like to put my skills to good work.

3. The campaign foundation is basically clear and about the work, will grow through it again to understand more things. The best way to keep a project is continuity and total dedication to work.

4. I would say by providing weekly tasks that will contain links where members can be directed to read the articles in the various websites.

Keep up the good work.

Initial thoughts: This proposal seems like a movement away from CrowdHolding's core business model, and more like another venture altogether. I am concerned that if CrowdHolders' attentions become too dispersed, it will weaken the engagement in the core community.

I have a feeling this already occurs. Many CrowdHolders are active in past projects' telegram communities. That speaks volumes to the value of the CrowdHolding community beyond the feedback. In a sense, the value reverberates through CHers ongoing engagement with high quality projects. Where that is bad for business: Some of those products do not continue to post projects in CH community. CH is not seeing returns on that engagement value.

This proposal would continue to disperse strong CHers' attention without return directly to the CH platform.

Would I apply? No, at this time all my free time is accounted for. I haven't been able to post on CH as much as I'd like and cannot add anything new to my plate.

Is the campaign clear? Yep. It's clear on its surface. What is unclear to me is, how does this connect to the core CrowdHolding business model?

How could CH platform be more utilized? I seem to remember a telegram convo that mentioned a way to embed CH comments into web content. When that was mentioned, I envisioned something similar to how you can embed a tweet into a blog, someone's CH feedback could be embedded in each article.

Start by requiring a CH task requesting crowd feedback on some aspect of AE to be highlighted in each article. Then, write the article utilizing the best CH content within the article (maybe the widget could make it possible to just publish one portion of the feedback). Highlight both AE, CH and the synergy between them in every article. Ensure that any support this community provides each project supplies returns to the CH community.

Cheers Thew, your concern is valid. One reason I wanted to try this out, is by being successful with a use case we could program this concept within CH for others to do as a "growth hacking feature." the concept of embedding comments from CH elsewhere is definitely on point. In addition, for the short gain, it brings added revenue to also keep budget in check while we look for a funding round.

But you are right, this strategy can't evolve outside of CH, our product needs to incorporate it after we prove a successful use case.

1. so what's your thoughts?

I think the proposal seems pretty solid overall. Perhaps I would consider adding a few tasks for users that can be completed for AE tokens. What you are proposing is that your selected crowd members are fed written articles to post as AE presumably on accounts created for their platform which is fine and shouldn't take long but perhaps you could select a few members to target sites such as Quora. Comments on sites such as this get hundreds of views per week and with a little creative targeting we could pose as 'helpful' people responding to peoples questions....maybe if someone asked: "what are some legitimate ways I can earn cryptocurrency?" we could answer suggesting that they check out the Cryptotask site, explain some of the opportunities available on the website and offer a link, with a user reference number attached to be both tracked and reward the poster for their time. Perhaps a small payment in AE for the work posting the task and then a per referral agreement.

Allow a selection of users to run a giveaway on one of their social media platforms. These often gain a lot of traction and some of the stipulations of winning could involve signing up for the Cryptotask telegram page or the website. Let's say a user is given $25 of AE as a giveaway. He posts this with 1. follow Cryptotask 2. like and retweet (if on twitter) 3. tag 3 friends. This will bring some new members to their community.

There are also telegram bots such as doge click where, for a small amount of money - often as little as $2 you can get hundreds of clicks a day onto a website, true that not all of them would sign up but it would bring a lot of traffic their way.

2. Would you participate and apply to be an Author?

you bet your little cotton socks I would :D

3. Is the campaign clear, and do you feel it could reach good results as a strategy?

The campaign is pretty straight forward but you were right to let the CH members have a look and I am sure you will gather some extra ideas to bulk out the concept a little to add extra value! I think we really need to be thinking outside the box with this one as we have an opportunity to make something truly unique for them by putting all of our heads together!

4. How could CH application be used more in this growth hacking campaign?

provide each CH crowd member with a referral number unique to them and let them all go out and do their thing!

We have many bright, enthusiastic and well-connected members. Track each referral and offer a YUP and AE reward for the best monthly active referrals.

Offer them 1 Free task a month (or more?) on the CH platform as part of the deal. They can post any task (within reason obviously) to get feedback on new apps or features and we will review it for them and you only need to offer a small YUP reward. This could not only be good for them but an incentive for people building apps on their blockchain so that they can also get valuable feedback on upcoming projects.

GOOD LUCK!

So what're your thoughts?

This seems to be a great idea! Keep on with your great work, congrats! I checked out the AE campaigns listed already and at the moment there is just one interesting one (the trading competition on the first AE DEX, which has still to be built, I assume), so from this point of view, as it seems right now, the CH campaign proposal will be taken in consideration for sure.

While reading your proposal, I noticed two grammatical errors:
-Jonny Dee is an experienced growth hacker for CH and the company Energi ranked in the top 50 of CMC.
-The reward for the Authors on the time spent for work needs to be adequate.

Would you participate and apply to be an Author?

I am certainly interested to apply as an Author since I see it a great opportunity to gain more experience both in content writing as well as online marketing. Right now cryptocurrency and smart contracts are quite in an early stage and broader adoption is not on the next corner, so it takes a lot of dedication to raise peoples awareness (but I see it as the future and would like to contribute to this field and in this case to AE and CH). The proposed rewards are not that sweet of a deal, but the experience to gain for me is worth it anyway.

Is the campaign clear, and do you feel it could reach good results as a strategy?

To me the CH proposed campaign is explained quite detailed and leaves little question, but more just operational details to be specified or confirmed by AE, like how to track milestones, what will be the rewards for the Authors, on what sites to post ecc.

How could CH application be used more in this growth hacking campaign?

CH could use its platform to create content for the AE/CH campaign or it could be used to improve the content provided by AE or to brainstorm ideas for content in the AE/CH campaign which will then be reviewed by the AE team.

Great feedback Tom. Can you suggest some sites where I can work to earn something online for upkeep? I don't want the very popular sites we all know of (upwork, freelancer, earn.com, etc.). Content or article writing, creative writing, email marketing, songwriting/recording (rap especially) and other related tasks will do. I'm not working at the moment. If I'll even be paid in crypto it's fine.

You could try publish0x.com, I haven't yet tried it myself though. Eventually, let me know. Steam is not working out for newcomers.

You have a well thought out proposal. At first, I didn't think I was creative enough to be an author for the project, but after reading your response to Kaaba, I guess it is similar to what we are doing here on crowdholding. So, if you believe my contributions here are what you're looking for, then yes I would apply to be an author!

The campaign is very clear. Once you analyze more data and fill in those numbers for AE, they will have a clear idea of what you can offer. I do believe you can reach the results you're after. Look how crowdholding has grown!

Other sites have referral programs. There are also  to 'learn to earn' tutorials. One thing I want to add. You have a few grammatical errors in your proposal that should be corrected before you send it to AE. It looks more professional/smarter without errors.

1. I think that the CH's efforts as a partner to assist the Aeternity's Community Building Campaign look so good. Also after learning about the types and methods of community building campaigns they pursue thru the Aetenity site, I hope CH's efforts will be very helpful to AE.

2. I am willing to participate in this campaign. Instead of participating as an author, I would like to participate in sharing the articles produced by AE through the media. I want to be part of a volunteer without compensation or reward.

3. Yes. If the campaign goes according to AE's plan, I'm sure it will work as a good strategy.

4. It will work if the application of CH is progressed more often and more deliberately.

- I think this is a very good idea to build up a community. Consistent posting on as many as 94 websites can go a long way in getting information to thousands of people. You will be surprised by how I discovered Crowdholding. I searched the question "What are the best sites for earning cryptocurrencies?" Of all the different articles I decided to read (and they were about 5) I saw CH in almost all of them. The growth hacking campaign using authors and publishers is therefore a good one in my opinion.

- Yes, I will participate and apply to be an author. From what you stated, all articles will be created by AE and this will cut down on the writer's job. Coming up with creative comments shouldn't be so hard to do either and considering my contributions to previous AE and CH tasks, I think I'll enjoy the author tasks. Moreover, it's not as if there aren't any rewards for doing the job. Why not give it a shot? You never know what opportunities are going to come out of this.

- If everything goes according to plan, this strategy will surely work out. Concerning the AE Oracle distributing tokens however, using affiliate links to track it isn't very clear to me. Could you explain it a bit?

- CH doesn't have weekly, bi-weekly or monthly articles it has been publishing for readers other than Crowdholders. This can be started for the sake of this campaign. A new email list can be built up for this while publishing articles consistently

Regarding your question whether we use an affiliate link. The idea is each article has a specific link to be followed and tracked. But, now I think about it more, having access to analytics will showcase each websites traffic numbers anyway. However, if AE wouldn't be willing to share analytics, they could just show specific link results too us.

Don't listen to me because of who I am, I'm nobody like everone else.

Looks really good, I like that you are trying to expand what you are doing here with something like this.

I think I would probably be interested in applying to be an author yes.

The campaign is clear and I think it could be good for raising awareness of AE and possibly bringing in new users depending on the content to be honest and whether it gives a clear reason for people to want to make that big leap from curiosity to actually setting up a wallet and buying tokens.

Possibly you could have a sharing task for some of the articles, perhaps targetting which ones have the best chance to gain traction on a particular site.

Ethan Clime guru

CEO of Crowdholding.com

Instead of a share bounty for the article, we could make tasks specifically for posting authentic comments under the sites we publish on, boosting reader interests from comments. Similar to the CryptoTask task where after you commented here on CH, you had to copy and paste it in their Telegram

Didn't consider this. I thought about CH could use its platform to create content for the AE/CH campaign or it could be used to improve the content provided by AE. But this would be the easiest option to implement. The only danger in my opinion would be to be seen as Spam, if the 1-2 sentence comments would be copy/pasted from CH to the sites mentioned.

In my opinion, what you need are real practical use cases. What topics are the articles going to discuss. I believe that you need developers, and users, not articles. A good example are the defi lending apps on etherium. I am using them every day to earn real money. The etherium network is full, and cant scale fast enough. You need to get out the message why aeternity io better, what problem does it solve, how you can use it now.
