Month of May Dividend Results

Rewards

No YUP/tokens awarded

Hello Crowdholders,

This month we rewarded more than 500K YUPs and many other tokens for voting and commenting. This is about $950 worth of tokens, but also rewarded dividends to top leaderboard and YUP holders of min >50K YUP.

Today the first dividends were sent out for the month of May. You will see the reward coming in on your “account” profile as shown in the screenshot below.

A total of 5% of the 500K YUPs  was given out as dividends. Here are the results for the tiers:

Tier 1 Group: >top 20 Leaderboard(May): 78 YUPs

Tier 2 Group: >50,000 YUP: 78 YUPs

Tier 3 Group: >250,000 YUP:  313 YUPs

Tier 4 Group: >1,000,000 YUPS: 1,566 YUPs

Although it’s fair to see the results are not big numbers, this is the first step to begin increasing this month by month. The more tasks, the better the volume. For those who are interested in past months total rewards given out, here is the list starting in January:

January: 280K YUPs; 25 tasks

February: 200K YUPs; 31 tasks

March: 150K YUPs; 22 tasks

April: 500K YUPS; 32 task

May: 500K YUPs; 30 tasks

Keep in mind, you will also see some altcoins show up in your profile from these dividends, but we decided not to showcase because these rewards are minimal. It will be important to keep recruiting and improving the altcoin rewards on CH going forward.

Don’t forget about our BUY YUP widget on the newsfeed. Price is fixed weekly from CMC so you never know when you may find a better price to purchase YUPs and can upgrade your tier! If you are interested to place tasks as an individual, you can click here to apply.

Thanks for reading and feel free to discuss the results in the comment section below.

Cheers,

CH Team

Looking good guys. I don't think that anyone in their clear mind could have expected through the roof results in the beginning.

Its a good start!

However.. Weird thing happened. My account shows that I received dividends for May. 78 YUPs, to be precise. That is the amount for the top 20 leaderboard tier, which I am pretty sure that I was not a part of.

  1. Why focus on developing the dividend feature now?
  2. Can't you guys see that at the moment the platform is generating only 50$ a month?
  3. Is really necessary to share the whopping sum of 25$ dollars between 100+ users?
  4. Why not spend more time researching and designing tiers and rewards?
  5. Who thought offering an investment with 0.02% ROI was a good idea? Literally, my savings account offers me more.
  6. Would it make it sense to instead try to increase said revenue before distributing it?
    • Why is CH not capable of attracting or retaining paying customers (businesses)?
    • Why is CH not capable of attracting or retaining quality users?
    • Why are tasks so dull and getting only ~60 comments and most of them are "good luck, good project"?
    • Why allow users to post tasks given the above points?
    • Why are there so many missing and broken features even for a simple forum? (e.g. sub-replies, notifications, project page, admin dashboard, etc...)
    • What happened to "life-changing" or "breakthrough" features like this one in the past? Like the widget, the survey button, the task template...
    • Focus on content, not on software!

Why focus on developing the dividend feature now?

Sine the buy button and new dividend system been going on, we have had daily volume increase with our market cap price also rising. So this, in fact, improved the value of YUP as we give 50% of our revenue cuts, since this implementation.

Can't you guys see that at the moment the platform is generating only 50$ a month?

With the current market cap, it's actually 250 USD. That being said, we need to keep working to increase this. Now it's easier flow to buy YUPs using our widget button, which is another cause for the uptick in the market cap because Contributors (admin users) are buying YUP. This is a step in the right direction.

Is really necessary to share the whopping sum of 25$ dollars between 100+ users?

I'm guessing you are meaning one task which a reward at $25. That project spent 25 USD to place the task and 100 people to respond and voted. Starting out, it's of course low, but people are still engaged believing in the future cost of YUP. You have to remember, a lot of users do this because it's fun and they get to help out projects with their ideas. If in time that project token succeeds, including the YUP, that task could be worth in the thousands just because the YUP increased over time (more tasks, higher rewards, brings more volume). The question and current tests we need to work on, is to find the market fit to have us grow faster.

Why not spend more time researching and designing tiers and rewards?

We recently designed the new tiers (Guru, expert, senior, regular, new) now we are looking to add a level of gamification which we are testing allowing Guru users to become contributors. If this test works, Guru users have admin access and can use their YUPs. I hear ya though. WIll put more time in improving gamification for sure now that the dividend system is done.

Who thought offering an investment with 0.02% ROI was a good idea? Literally, my savings account offers me more.

Mentioned this before. Remember, we are giving our YUP holders 50% of our revenue via the business model on CH. If CH never increases the current amount for rewards and the YUP never increases in value than the ROI will stay low. By having the dividend structure in place, we have a low benchmark now... with the communities support we can keep this growth happening, growth increases ROI. By starting low with our current benchmark is smart. Now it's important we keep growing these numbers.

Would it make it sense to instead try to increase said revenue before distributing it?

Now that every YUP holder knows they get dividends based of 50% of our revenue, it creates more community motivation, thus they work with us to bring businesses and find ways to increase YUP and rewards. We shouldn't be alone here, as CH users are colleagues of our company. You don't higher someone to later tell them what they will get, especially when people get paid in commission. So I still believe it was smart putting the dividend system first (50% is half of our revenue) there are not many companies out there giving 50% of revenues to their users. Yes, they are receiving tokens in a down market, but I believe by sticking to our guns, we will be timing ourselves correctly with the future growth in the dapp market. We are all in this industry because we see it as disruptive with a bright future.

Thank you for Crowdholding's policy to provide dividens to YUP holders. I would like to say that Crowdholding should have a big picture for future as far as possible. If the value of YUP increases, many users buy it.

@lore imprenditore I appreciate your concerns, but to claim we are not delivering initial promises is pre-mature. Back at the end of 2018 we began getting feedback about this new system for dividends, and overwhelmingly our community requested it. You can check out the task here: https://www.crowdholding.com/project/68/task/688/what-do-you-think-of-combining-the-concept-of-a-security-and-utility-token

Thus we delivered as promised and keep moving the project forward. As we speak we are ranked 74 on Stateofthedapps, which is a good indicator of how our activity relates to other projects on the market. As you are putting the time in answering on this thread it does show you also do want the project to succeed. I am glad you are bringing up these conversations that can help us improve in the future. I understand you disagree with user tasks test, but already I am seeing some interesting results as I was contacted via FB by Pitch Investor Live because of a task a user did and they want to have a meeting. Will see where that goes, but it's an interesting start.

I left you a whole bunch of questions to answers above. Maybe with that format is easier for us to communicate

@Ethan

I appreciate how you guys listen to feedback instead of taking questionable decisions anyways. The not fixed rules allowed you to collect community feedback and mold and adapt for the benefit of the eco-system. Dividends are now an overwhelming success: tiers make perfect sense and the investment is overall so lucrative I bought more bags of YUPs, so kudos to the amazing team and devs.

Finally, I can earn more YUPs by simple holding in my wallet instead of having to answer to yet another boring intro task on the platform or spending a good 30 seconds to upvote those comments who are not "good luck, nice project!".

Now I can't wait to go on the blockchain and manually count the total amount of rewards, I don't know why anyone would write a task, to sum the results up when you can just paste a link to etherscan!

@Steven

Buddy, you need to decouple vision and execution when you talk about crowdholding or any other project. You are correct when you say it's quite obvious that they are extremely passionate and determined to make this platform a success, but that has little to do with the ability to deliver on the initial promises. You are trying to sell me this platform and a handful of dreams while I'm simply expressing my disappointment for yet another potentially interesting feature developed without enough research, in an approximative manner and at the wrong time. That's all :)

Hi Lore, appreciate you taking the time to reply. Do you have suggestions on how you would improve on the current system? From what I'm reading you are obviously in disagreement with the development but it's unclear to me as to how exactly you would like to see it.

With regards to metrics, I've taken a look on etherscan: there are currently 113 accounts with a minimum of 250k yup of which 52 accounts with a minimum of 1 million yup. And your statement about buying yup to earn dividends... that's kind of the point no? Support the platform and receive a reward for doing so. Or are you complaining that the pay out is to low? I think I don't fully understand what you tried to say and apologize if I misinterpreted you.

Looking forward to your reply!

@Lore impreditore

Understandable reaction, but please consider the bigger picture. This a first and mayor step in the right direction. Basically a proof of concept.

We've got here a platform that allows virtually everyone on this planet to open an account and earn a bit of crypto from the comfort of their own home. Companies, projects, start-ups, influencers, researchers, institutes, etc. have access to this global pool of people's attention, creativity and knowledge. This concept in an of itself has imho opinion incredible potential.

Now if crowdholding manages to stick through these rough times; image the day they boast real user numbers (in the millions) and companies begin to actually use the platform for their marketing campaigns (e.g. use this coupon to shop with us, tell us about your favorite product, etc) and researchers use the platform to source groups of people to fill out their forms in return for a small payment 1 USD per person.

We begin to talk real numbers.

By enabling anyone to post tasks, with the ability to put up any bounty erc-20 based crypto crowdholding is lowering the barrier of entry and it's appeal to start-ups more and more.

Now what we need, is innovation and improvements. Lowering all barriers, attracting users on a bigger scale, develop functionality and get the attention of bigger players of all industries.

At this stage; I'm not really looking at the returns (though would obviously be nice don't get me wrong), I'm looking at how the team is going about things. And it's quite obvious to me that they are extremely passionate and determined to make this platform a success!

A total of 5% of the 500K YUPs  =>  25000 YUP =>  24$

Total revenue for the month of May => 50000 YUP => 48$

Total users who applied for dividends => ???

User distribution for each tier => ???

Monthly ROI for each tier => ???

As you can see we are missing at least a few important metrics here, not to mention one could question how are you counting the total YUP spent on bounties, as they pretty often come with 100K+ rewards but in reality, a lot less is actually used based on the number of sharing tasks.

From looking at the different tiers we can see how top users received a meager 78 YUP (8c at the time of writing) while the top holders received a staggering 1.5$, basically 18.5 times more rewards for well, just holding. So we can conclude we should all buy 1 million tokens and open multiple accounts (KYC anyone?) instead of actually giving feedback, this way it will only take 53 years to cover the initial investment since the annual ROI is less than 0.02%! To the moon! 🚀

Always appreciate constructive criticism as this brings out the best logic, so kudos. Fill free to fact check the total amount of rewards from our 10% cut as it's all on the blockchain.

ROI can change drastically by improving tasks/activity growth, and time is on our side from the knowledge we have accumulated. You are correct rewards from the first dividend round are low, but it is important we work to get this right to keep improving.

As this is a company policy to reward bonus YUPs, it's not fixed rules (no need for KYC) allowing us to collect community feedback to mold and adapt for the benefit of the eco-system. I hear ya when it comes down to people trying to abuse the system. We are currently moderating for when and if this becomes a problem. Potentially when we are much bigger this issue will arise to solve/prevent. I appreciate pointing that out. For the time being, we will look to review the first dividend round, and if necessary make changes on the behalf of the community to improve our eco-system.

PS: Isn't it the point people go out and buy tokens for exactly that reason? More people buying = higher price per yup = more earnings for people earning on the platform. win win no? I really don't understand what you are trying to say. Will await your reply to my other comment.

I think the whole idea behind the dividend policy is to motivate people to buy and hold YUP, in order to increase the value of the token. This higher value will increase rewards for tasks, which will increase usage of the site.

Now, from an investment perspective, the dividend policy actually has a perfect ROI. I own >1 mio YUP. I received 1566 YUP this month, plus a load of other tokens. On an annual basis, the YUP dividends only amount to 1,9% ROI. (1566*12/1.000.000) On most tasks the token rewards is similar, so if you assume that at the same value, the ROI on an annual basis is 3,8%!

Now, this is at the current volume levels, so if the traffic on the site keeps increasing (past months have been impressive in this regard), this could increase significantly.

So, all in all, I do not share your opinion on low ROI.

My question then is, how do you keep people interested and willing/wanting to continue to participate long after they sign up? How do you make sure that the experience dont become monotonous and only motivated by the monetary factor but can continue to gain value to the projects that list and the users that engage with them? Last but not least how many different ways is there to make coins
