How it all started with Live Sweaters

Sometimes I'm grateful for my naivety. If I knew what awaits me for making the first sweater, I would not even try it.

It all began with a visit to one of the Hipster Stores in San Francisco. That's where I found a little different sweater. More colorful, more imaginative. Just cool.

My friends praised the sweater when I came back to Prague, and thanks to that sweaters also ladies started talk to me more. As a result, I realized that I wanted more this kind of sweaters.

First attempts at production

But there was nothing like that in the Czech Republic. I decided to order few sweaters custom made (that was the naive part).

At first I tried it in China. The result was poor, complicated communication, and delivery times that I could get to Shanghai on foot. Indonesia was not much better. And, suprisingly, the quality sweaters were barely to manage even in the Czech Republic.

Finding the right material

I've been looking for the right material for a long time. I wanted something that lasts, It'll be nice to wear, and the design will be unobtrusive.

No patches, no thicker layers with motifs, no stitches pieces.

Eventually, thanks to my friend, I discovered MERINO WOOL and immediately fell in love with it.

It was soft, It did not get any smell and controlled body temperature (yeah, the merino wool). But it had another hook. In the Czech Republic, there are surprisingly just few manufactures where they manage to create more complex patterns.

Hard year and half

On the first quality sweater, because alI Chinas, Indonesians and unfortunate attemts I was waiting for about eighteen months.

Making it well was not funny at all. But today, thanks to this in the Czech Republic we knit sweaters, which are not quite the same. Unlike sports brands, we combine the properties of merino wool with stylish design.

What can you expect from Live Sweaters?

  • These are sweaters that last for years, and they can only be washed once every few weeks.
  • Sweaters that you will still show to grandchildren.
  • Sweaters fit into society and into nature.

So I hope that you will love our clothes just as I do.
