Hello Crowdholders,

Our previous task here, had CH users fill out a survey for us to get a better understanding of the freelance user. In total we had 72 people fill out the survey. Now we want to show the results for you!

Below are the results from the survey:

So there you have it. Together we have discovered some interesting results.

Now for the task:

Put down your thoughts regarding the results. Did you see anything interesting we should note down? From these results, anything we should be aware of or target with our product implementation?

We look forward to your feedback!

Cheers,

CryptoTask Team

It was a good start but more can still be done about it, i think that crowd holders need to improve in their engagement with tasks outside the site and get to do more than just sticking to only tasks here, we need to broaden our reach and increase the value of the yup and also of the crowdholding as a whole.

The first thing also which is good is that most of those that took the survey were young men, so we need to all put our energy into place and take this project to greater heights.

It's a shame most crowdholders won't participate of requires to leave this site. It's usually a click away via link.ni can understand when we're asked to sign up for something or download, but that's not the majority of the tasks. I hope more people participate because I really enjoy crowdholding and it's the only way it will get to continue.

Love those stats. Thanks for visualizing it (and for sharing at all) with us! I was kind of surprised to see that the majority of people find new clients in one week or less. What am I doing wrong? :)

Freelance/Upwork/Fiverr are the top 3 sites for gigs, no surprise there, nor is it that most gigs were marketing or sales related and either in the IT or finance industry. Also, looks like almost exactly 75% of those who responded are under the age of 40. Matches the expectations of computer proficiency necessary for the e-gig economy.

Good stuff, thanks for involving us.

Majority of the people from the survey work at IT as freelancers. I think that has a lot to do with evolving Blockchain technology.

Many of them also worked in marketing, signifying that they were trying to get the word out about Blockchain tech and it's applications.

Interesting results. Thank you for sharing them with the entire community. I was surprised by the large number of current freelancers and their concentration on some specific topics.

I think social consensus and clear conception of Freelancer are necessary, and basic social welfare (insurance, etc.) system should be applied for freelance as a job. Most importantly, the freelancer job will become more active in the future. Therefore, from now on, it is necessary to actively utilize freelancers and expand the scope of activities.

Just a common Crypto enthusiast.. Wait crypto is not common it's special :)

I think thats a reasonable survey statistic to plan your next step.

I know 72 is not a big number but you need to keep in mind that crypto community is still growing and good thing is you got a very good mix in terms of age group of respondents, and majority of them have freelancing experience.

Main takeways from this survey are:

  • Competition is strong: Most people surveyed are active on competitive sites like Upwork and Fiverr. You have to highlihgt your edge which is crypto. Make sure you publisize crypto based payouts in al your future marketing efforts.
  • Low Idle Time: Survey shows majority people don't have to wait more than a week to find a job. This means you have to ensure lot of active projects to ensure people continue using your site. This means you have to collaborate with a lot of projects and get their committment before you launch the site
  • Changing Market Trend: Lot of people did not do freelancing before as they preferred a secure job. With the upcoming recession and boost towards crypto things will change. More and more people will seek freelancing and you need to be ready to scale up to meet the requirements

Hope this helps, all the best!!

It is a good start because it is just a start, any start is always a good start. But having just 72 responses means that a lot of persons didn't participate in the survey, because I think that we have more than that number of persons here on the platform.

from the survey it can be seen that a lot of people have worked as a freelancer once or twice in their lifetime, and from the most job role that has been taken it can be seen also that content creation and marketing were the highest positions that were covered, from this a freelancer can know the best position to take to get more job opportunity and also to be open for more job offer.

and it will also help the new crypto tasks website to know where to focus on and were to make stronger and more pronounced.

I looked back at some of the tasks and there are many with under 80 comments- which means less than 80 of us did the task, because that includes replies. We need more participation from this crowd.

Emailing Crowdholders once a week or once every two weeks as a form of reminder for completing tasks isn't such a bad idea. People check their emails more compared to other sites.

This is impressive because we usually don't get feedback. I believe it's a fair response and will give a fair idea of who you dealing with.

I think 52 responses isn't encouraging but its good for a start.

Well done

72 at the beginning, then it goes lower on down the survey. De Gem mentioned this in his reply.....saying possibly people didn't continue answering if they hadn't freelanced

Interesting results! Thanks for posting. So often, we never hear back from previous tasks on whether we were helpful or not. It's no surprise that more young people particpated than older folks.I think 'crypto' in general, is more popular with younger people. Many of the jobs are in Tech so makes sense those have higher percentages on this survey. It also could mean that those areas are over saturated, so if cryptotask could add freelance jobs in the other areas, that may be successful in driving more job seekers to their site. Paying in crypto was obviously popular in this survey, but as somuch of the world is still unfamiliar with crypto, having the option of crypto or fiat will help. Best of luck to you. I look forward to launch and may be looking for freelance work!

This is a very good stats even though the numbers of persons that filled it is not much compared to a full-blown survey, thus survey shows reality in its essence and thus can be used for much different calculation and simulation and thus is of great value to any researcher.

it also shows what people have and what they can offer or give.

with this survey, more work and updates will be ready for the website.

more success to you guys.

pls, i want to say that we should put more effort into those that post irrelevant links and irrelevant comments, this place is becoming crowded with irrelevant comments. let's remember to report them. kudos.

i posted it here because this is new tasks and many persons are going to see it if you have posted your comment; even if you don't want to read the other comment, you can just scroll through to check if there are any defaulters and report them appropriately.

let us keep here clean.

Totally agree.. Moderators need to start warning these people and if they still continue find ways to block or mute them.. Else this site will be drowning in spam and will become difficult to identify the genuine responses in between them.

Thanks for showing us the results of the survey. You put some decent work in this. I made an interesting observation. The discrepancy between the survey questions as you move down the survey is something I really thought about. There are questions where 72 people answered and ones where 51 people answered. There are ones where 50 people answered and others where 21 people responded.

I am thinking that with respect to the first question, since 27.8% (20) out of the 72 people who answered have never been freelancers they did not answer the rest of the survey questions except the last two questions, meaning all the other survey questions averaged at least 50 answerers. Initially, I wrote that the survey wasn't a reliable one because I didn't really get why the number of responders kept decreasing but I do now. The only error I think should be rectified is the labeling. Some of them didn't appear and others are confusing. Aside that, you've done a great job for the survey.

I'm not sure if email reminders will work because we have the option in settings to get reminders about tasks already. I think people just aren't committed enough, which is a shame because we learn about so many startups here. Plus learning about new web sites, apps etc

De Gem guru

Definitely. On CH, we have the option of turning off email notifications quite easily. However, on sites like PublishOx I do get emails about once a month informing me of contests. This sometimes serves as a reminder to go back to the platform in order to read something after staying away for a long time.

It can't hurt to shoot an email reminder. I just don't understand why so few people actually participate. I look forward to seeing what's new here, as I believe you do also.

The survey questions cover the basics of any research for users in a freelance site. Maybe it should have also included the category of persons who would use the services of a freelancer and why.

The graphs are not well labeled. Some don't even have a label so we don't know what some results represent.

That's a really good infographic. You can still really work on marketing your site to increase the number of visitors. Lot of people still prefer to freelance and that's a good sign for your project. You can add more categories like health care, doctors where consultation is required, streamers, education sector like u academy.
