Decentralized freelance task market

Hello Crowdholders,

Today we would love to introduce ourselves. We're Decentralized Freelancing Market place and proud future æpp for the æternity blockchain as part of the Starfeet Accelerator Program

Currently, we are at an early stage and we can't wait to work more with you to improve our product ✊

Curious about who we are and what our business is about?

Cryptotask is developing a freelance marketplace with a key technical innovation allowing a commercially scalable consensus mechanism with reviewer board selection built into the blockchain, including the escalation option that satisfies Nash equilibrium.

Basically - we are Upwork on blockchain, with 90% lesser fees, no censorship, no limits on task size and the ability to earn money as a reviewer!

How does it work?

In more non-technical terms an organization post a  job on Cryptotask, a freelancer accepts the job and performs the required action. After completion of the job, organization (client) confirms the job was done successfully and approved. The freelancer is then paid out.

If a dispute arises, our system will choose 10 reviewers and they will vote on which side is right, then reviewers get their reward and job is concluded.

So how do we standout from other freelance applications?

Due to the decentralized nature of the technology, Cryptotask takes a very low fee of 3% compared to the likes of other freelance applications that takes 20 to 30% in a centralized system with 3rd party fees. With a mathematically provable attack resistance and fully scalable hierarchical dispute system, including  no censorship, no limits on value and guaranteed dividend payouts to reviewers, we standout as a unique freelance system.

The Largest-Ever Work from Home Experiment - Part 2

task |
Back on February 19th, 2020 we covered an article regarding how companies in Singapore, Hong Kong & China were having people work from home. At the time it was an unprecedented experiment. Now, one month later it’s not limited to just 3 countries. It’s now becoming the largest global experiment in our modern-day history. This may bring the needed change of the rooted 9 to 5 office job.   Comparing different Pandemic Eras Yes, there were other times where a pandemic occurred and we can’t even imagine how that must have been. The Spanish Flu in 1918 infected around 1.8 billion people, roughly 27% of the global population and killing around 100 million. This was during war-time (WW1) and governments globally censored the disease to sustain the war efforts morale leaving many unaware of the risks. However, papers were free to report the epidemic’s effects in neutral Spain, thus giving the name “Spanish” flu. Today it is still unknown where the disease originated. This was very different in what we are seeing now. Everyone who was not fighting in the front line had jobs primarily working for the war machine. You got sick with the flu, you recovered, you then went back to the factory. A lot of people were financially hurt by this. Today with many jobs being on your computer, we can quarantine and still work without leaving the home. We have work accessibility through instant global communication. Some say the media is overhyping and causing panic, but instead we should appreciate the warning. We should in fact be more proud of how we are handling this in today’s era.   Sacrificing the short term economy to save the long term Yes, this will briefly affect the economy, but we are talking about saving lives for the many of us who are working from home. We are saving economic costs for the long term rather than the short term. We will expect that those who can’t work from home or become sick will get government support. As of most recently, we are seeing the first steps in the US from the announcement of President Trump’s payroll tax cut plan. For the first time, we will see how we will cope with millions of people working from home. The downtown business office job will be an eerie ghost town except for a few. So how will working from home benefit after examining this global work experiment? For starters, if you are a US resident, you just saved an hour of your day.   Commuting is becoming more of an issue The average commute to work has reached an all-time record. On average, a US resident drives 27 minutes to work. That is almost one whole hour stuck in a machine that is coughing up Co2 into the atmosphere. This is one whole hour away from friends, family and additional work. And there’s a reason travel is getting longer and longer to commute. The geographical concentration of jobs within the US are clustered in rich cities. When we look at venture-backed investments, 80% goes to just three states. Massachusetts, New York, and California. Seventy percent of internet jobs are either located in the area between Washington and Boston or the crescent between Seattle and Phoenix.   Companies are missing out on a range of talented people With the majority of the middle class unable to afford nor find an opening near such wealthy metro areas, companies miss out on a range of talented people. These people either need to commute long distances or not work at all for them. This displaces the American worker. In fact, companies become restricted to only hire people from the same socioeconomic pool who share the same ideas and blind spots. Companies thus lack a homogenous culture of distributed knowledge and experience. Diversity comes from the interaction of different communities spurring creativity. A company that develops remote work features for their employees can bring that much needed diversity. Will the COVID-19 pandemic bring vast changes to our rooted 9 to 5 office job? Only time will tell. One thing is for sure, we have been heading in that direction for some time, it really comes down to whether this will speed up policies from companies to allow remote work. Here at CryptoTask, we are building an application specifically for the freelancer and remote worker connecting businesses to hire and communicate with the worker.   What is CryptoTask? CT is a decentralized freelance market ecosystem skipping 3rd party fees by directly connecting hirees and applicants peer to peer. CT uses a commercially scalable consensus mechanism with a reviewer board selection built into the blockchain. News Update: Product Improvements & Job Opportunities

task |
We have recently deployed new product improvements and on top of that, we would like to showcase some job opportunities from our partner, Aeternity. On the 3rd of March, we deployed new improvements to our website. Our team has been working hard to bring you additional improvements and features. So what’s new? Let’s take a look: We now support multiple languages which render accordingly to when people send messages and create job offers.     Next, we have the option for content formatting when creating jobs. This means the job posts can adjust to proper spacing and has a typographical toolbar for sizing and font.       Prior to the update, we didn’t have the ability to put “Negotiable” for the cost of the freelance task nor for time spent. This was only set at a number value. This created publishers to select $1 dollar if they didn’t want to showcase this, and instead wanted to speak with freelancer’s who apply.   Lastly, we have added the reputation system. This means both the client and freelancers can rate the experience of working together through a star rating system. This also involves a comment review.       We are excited to see how these new improvements will be used. Since launching the product back in January this year, we have over 300 freelancers who have signed up to our platform.   Now we would like to highlight some unique job opportunities that have been posted on our platform. The largest-ever work-from-home experiment could bring reform: What do you think?

task
China, Singapore & Hong Kong are having millions stay home from the office due to the Coronavirus. The world’s largest work from home policy never seen before could trigger how we do business in the future.   Could you imagine such an experiment? The time it takes to commute to the office there and back, no longer needed. People using task and communication software from the trigger of the keyboard, not dependent on where they are located. For many tech companies, employees only need their computer and an internet connection for work.   It’s probably happened to you before. You are in an office with a group of colleagues, and you need to ask a question to one of them. Instead of getting out of your chair to go across the room to ask in person, you send a quick message via Slack, and your colleague sitting across the room answers. The question then pops in your head, “Why do I need to be in the office 9 to 5 every day?”   We are seeing this more and more as communication tools become so convenient as it limits in person discussions within the office place. At the same time, written communication reminds the employees what was talked about and if a dispute occurs, the evidence is there.   For years, the younger generation has requested a more flexible scenario for working. Many large corporations are still run by older generations accustomed to their 9 to 5 policy. It is only a matter of time the hierarchy latter will change. Thus influencing company policy.   Now this change may move faster than we had ever thought. The first signs of the experiment are actually showing progress with digital tech companies. One tech base digital company in Hong Kong caught up in the Coronavirus fiasco discovered the quality of work is no different, as cited by CNN. In fact, they now plan to add such flexibility benefits once the epidemic blows over and people go back to their daily routines.   Stats are also making the case from employees who have flexible work arrangements. According to one study done by PGI: 82% of telecommuters reported lower stress levels 80% of employees reported higher morale when working from home 69% reported lower absenteeism   “The stats don’t lie,” says Ivan, CEO of Cryptotask a decentralized freelance application. “More people are working at home than in the past, in addition, workspaces are popping up globally. The need to travel a 40 minute commute across the city, can be compensated by heading to the local workspace 5 minutes from your apartment. Work flexibility is not about being a prisoner in your own home. It’s about the ability to work anywhere you want.”   Workspaces are on the rise. All together growing 15.2% globally in 2018 and 9.2% in 2019 respectively. The number of workers who go the freelance route, do this because of the work flexibility.   Here a CryptoTask we see the market heading into more flexible work hours. Not only are businesses taking notice with their employees, but people are moving towards more freelance type gigs that offer more flexible work hours. The number of freelancers rising year by year cannot be ignored.   Will this experiment caused by the Coronavirus result in improving work flexibility more rapidly? Or will it just keep the same level of growth and trends we see today regarding work adjustability. Only time will tell. But what we do know, that there is no stopping what workers want. And that’s flexible work hours.   So what do you think? Will this experiment be the catalyst for flexible work reform?   Leave your comment below.  Make sure to check out our beta platform where you can sign up and start applying for job roles. You can also follow us on Telegram & Twitter to keep up to date with the project developments. Thanks for reading!

Blockchain Stats and Future Trends

news
Since the crypto bubble pop of 2018, the market has seen continuous growth. As blockchain infrastructure improves so does the Dapps using it. In the article, we will be taking a look at the current industry stats in blockchain and potential future trends ahead.     Growth Since the Crypto Bubble Pop   When we take a look at the current market size according to Coinmarketcap, crypto represents over $302 billion. When you compare that to the total size of the global stock market (90 trillion) it’s extremely small. Crypto right now only represents 0.34% of the total stock market. But for those excited about the industry, it goes without saying there is plenty of room for growth.       Growth of the crypto market shows a 300% increase since its 2018 lowest point   In 2018, the lowest point from the crypto bubble was on December 16, 2018, when the market cap was just over $102 billion. That’s overall roughly a 300% increase as of February 2020.    More Developers in the Market   One stat that is often overlooked is the number of developers working on and building upon the blockchain stack. This can also indicate how the market will fair as it’s quite simple. More developers mean more products, which entails more usability reach.                        Stats up until August 2019 shows overall growth   In the last 5 years, the market has seen significant developer growth. Around 800 in 2015 to 6,842 in August 2019. It’s important to note that there was a slight dip. Until the next report, understanding what will happen in 2020 will be closely monitored. The good news, full time developers increased by 13% from the summer of 2018 to 2019.    So what coin/token system has the most developers?   Ethereum right now has 4 times more developers than bitcoin which is in second. Projects that allow Dapps to build upon using smart contracts brings in the most development talent.    When will Mass Adoption Occur?   First, we need to understand what mass adoption is. With the crypto industry only representing 0.34% of the global stock market, it’s clearly not yet. But one way is by looking at payment options such as Paypal which is considered to have gone global.    Paypal has roughly 305 million registered users as of Q4, thus representing 6.7% of all internet users. When you compare it to the blockchain sector’s 29 million users as of 2019, there are still significant strides that need to be made.    So lets say, the next 5 years show the same growth results of 806.25% in 2015 when the market was just over 3 million users. That means, the market will have 250 million, just shy of Paypal’s size. Therefore, from those stats we are looking more like 2026 to consider blockchain to have any mass adoption.   During the 2001 internet bubble pop, it took until 2015 to reach the same market height at $1.7 trillion. Taking almost 15 years to recover. Due to exponential technology growth year by year, we could assume a much faster time for crypto to reach it’s 835 billion height as of January 2018. At the current rate when calculating the 300% growth from December 2018 to now, shows it could reach it some time in 2022. But of course that is a what if, as we cannot predict the future.    Dapps Stats    According to StateoftheDapps, which does not account for all that is on the market, but comes close. The amount of live dapps are growing year by year. With the exception of the amount of new Dapps declining in 2019.                        Current live Dapps has reached a total of 3,322   Clearly the success of the Dapp market is what will drive adoption. Dapps bring the user interface for people to spend and use crypto within a service/business application. Although speculation can always increase crypto’s market cap, real use comes from this sector.   Here at CryptoTask we are building a freelance Dapp that is connected to the Aeternity blockchain system. We look to be significant player to help bring blockchain into mass adoption.   What is Cryptotask.org?   CryptoTask (CT) is a decentralized freelance market ecosystem skipping 3rd party fees by directly connecting hirees and applicants peer to peer. CT uses a commercially scalable consensus mechanism with a reviewer board selection built into the blockchain. This means job disputes are resolved much faster and cheaper, while your reputation is stored on the blockchain and there is no arbitrary censorship or hidden tampering, such as hidden boosting, something that centralized platforms are infamous for.   Enjoyed what you read?   Make sure to check out our beta platform where you can sign up and start applying for job roles. CryptoTask progress update vol2

news
Hey Everyone,    We want to share you our most recent Medium article, which you can check out here. Please make sure to give us some claps and it would be great if you can place a comment under the Medium article and share your thoughts on our Telegram chat about the news. Below is the same article from Medium. Exciting times!     Ok guys, we don’t want to over-hype but we have massive news. We acquired an existing freelancing platform based in Croatia in partnership with Croatian freelancers association HDNP (https://hdnp.hr/), with over 15,000 active users. That’s real traction and, on average, a few new jobs are posted daily: https://www.freelance.hr/postovi/s/o-nama. The design is a bit outdated but, of course, we are working on that. This platform will basically be a Croatian subsection of the global CryptoTask platform.   Real traction New design   One interesting thing is that we have noticed a lack of developers applying on dev jobs. Perfect opportunity to connect Kenyan freelancers to these jobs. If you haven’t read our previous blog update, we are working with Kenyan crypto / freelancer community on connecting them to the EU.   Here you can see our new design: https://projects.invisionapp.com/share/CHTFBAAWUJN#/screens. Minimal and functional.   Backend Aeternity blockchain integration is progressing as well, we are using Node.js and Browser SDK bundles.   We are working with great guys from CrowdHolding: https://www.crowdholding.com/project/430/?preview=1 (shout out to Ethan), they are helping by getting us feedback on the new platform design etc. Great community, many of whom are freelancers. See you at the Aeternity Universe conference in Prague!

Check out our New UI & Give Feedback

task
Hello everyone!    Thanks for all your support and work on previous tasks. If you haven’t yet participated, click here to check out our current live tasks.  For this task, you are going to be the first to see our new UI design for the product.    We used the program Invisionapp to design the UI layout which includes the following page designs:    Landing page Signup Post Job Browse freelance Browse jobs Job description  My Jobs   Keep in mind, these are mockup designs, not the application and must be viewed on desktop. Design will be cropped to mobile in the future as we put together the front end build. In addition, this first mockup showcases the basics, and does not go into detail of the reviewers side and UX according to the work that is done with the use of smart contracts. This dives more into how the organization (client) and freelancer posts/accepts jobs, and showcases themselves.   Instructions:    Click the link here to access the mockup (To identify what links to click, select anywhere on the screen and the clickable links will be highlighted in blue for your navigation). Go through each page thoroughly and imagine yourself in the shoes of both a client or freelance user.  Copy your comment on CH and post on our Telegram chat in order to get the rewards.    Questions:    What do you think of the design?    Any improvement suggestions?    We look forward to your feedback!   All the best,    CryptoTask Team

Freelance Stories: What’s your experience with being a freelancer?

task
Hello Crowdholders,    Today's task we would like to hear the perspective of being in the “shoes” of a freelancer. Being a freelancer is no easy task. You become your own boss and must grind to find intriguing and qualified work to put food on your table. As the millennial generation is moving toward an individualistic approach to work, more and more are becoming entrepreneurs and freelancers.     So let's keep it short. We need help to identify “pain points” but also “success stories” we can use while we are building our system. Use cases are an important part of R&D when building a product, therefore this will be very useful for us.    Participation rules:    Important Rule: In order to receive the full reward from your comment on CH, you must copy and paste your comment on our Telegram chat. This will help us show some engagement, and improve interest in our community, while we collect research. Don't forget to place your @username (Telegram handle) in the CH comment, for us to identify you posted on our Telegram chat.   Our Questions:   If you have done freelance work, did you have a freelance job that went wrong? Aka a “bad experience.” For example, you did the work but wasn’t paid? There was a lack of communication between you and the hiree? The freelance hiring process was too long and tedious?           2. What about a positive experience? Did you encounter any unique system that made it easy and made the                     experience rewarding?   We look forward to your feedback! And don’t forget to also post your comment to our Telegram chat.   Thanks!   CryptoTask Team  ------------- Note: This task is using AE tokens.
