Hello Crowdholders,

We are happy ❤️ with your previous interaction with our project and today, we're seeking help from you once again.
.......................................

TASK CONTEXT

After three years of networking globally at various private Family Office and HNWI investment events, SM@RT has now secured working relationships with a few major infrastructure development funders (Family Offices) that fund large infrastructure projects. These funders fund large scale “infrastructure development projects” from US$100M and up; they do NOT fund (invest in) startup companies like SM@RT. Having been approved to work with these funders, our role in this working relationship with the funders, is:

  • a) to function as the EPC contractor for multi-component “Smart City” projects which our company designs for countries in the Caribbean and Central America, where our projects would include specific infrastructure “sub-projects” that the local governments need to get done, such as Road/Highway Upgrades, new Sewage Systems or Waste Treatment Plants, etc. These smart city projects are not necessarily the building of a new city, but will often simply be the “addition” of several different “smart infrastructure solutions” into an existing city or town.
  •
  • b) to consult with governments to help them understand and leverage the infrastructure funding capital resources of the funders. This means meeting with government ministers and making presentations on a specific “smart city” infrastructure development plan for their country, using smart technologies and sustainable solutions. These presentations are what we call our “SM@RT CITY” Economic Development Plans.

If the governments we present to, like what we are offering and agree to move forward to access the available infrastructure funding, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) company is formed  to execute the SM@RT CITY development project, with SM@RT functioning as the EPC Contractor for execution of the project. EPC means “Engineering, Procurement and Construction”.

We are now preparing to meet with the first three governments in the Caribbean and Central America, which we have identified as strong candidates for the funding program.

Our FIRST OBJECTIVE, therefore, is to actually get an appointment with the minister in each country, who we have identified as the best one to meet with. To get the appointment, we have to provide the ministers with preliminary information that will clearly outline what we want to meet about and the value we have to offer them/their country. We have created a 10-page brochure targeted specifically at government ministers, which we believe is compelling enough to cause them to agree to meet with us. Getting the meeting is a critical first step, as nothing happens without that “opportunity meeting”, so we have to make sure that our brochure is going to get us the meeting every time we send it to a government minister.

Once we get the meeting, our SECOND OBJECTIVE is to make a very inspiring presentation to the ministers, of our vision for infrastructure development in their country that would create employment, improve social services and drive economic growth. For these critical presentations, we plan to produce Architectural Flyover Animation Videos, which visually depict our “SM@RT CITY” development vision for the country, incorporating a number of different infrastructure “sub-projects” which from research, we know are important to the specific government we are meeting with.

Here is an "EXAMPLE" of the kind of Architectural Flyover Animation Videos we need to produce for the countries (governments) we will be presenting to:

THE TASK - Help SM@RT Secure Government Clients

This task has TWO parts;

part "2" is optional.

....

Part 1: SM@RT Presentation REVIEWER

We'd like your opinion... here's the Big Question:

How likely do you think it is that our recently produced Promotional Brochure for circulation to Government Ministers, will deliver the results we need, which is getting confirmed exploratory meetings/appointments with most if not all of the government ministers it is sent to and viewed by.

WHAT TO DO:

(A) FIRST, use the link and password provided below, to view the Brochure we have created for government ministers, to be sent to those in the Caribbean and Central American countries first.

(B) NEXT, write a brief assessment of the brochure, what you like or don’t like and why;

(C) FINALLY, give us your considered opinion on a scale of 1 to 10, whether or not you think the overall info in the brochure is strong enough and convincing enough, to motivate a government minister who needs to find funding for his ministry’s projects, to agree to meet with us. Scale: 1 = Very Unlikely; 10 = Very Likely.

Part 2 (Optional): SM@RT Presentation SUPPORTER

Since the project funders we are working with are only funding the infrastructure development projects and are not funding SM@RT, we have to fund the cost of preparing the presentations for the government ministers ourselves. Thease include summary project feasibility documentation as well as the production of visually impactful Architectural Flyover Animation Videos explaining the impact we can help them deliver in their country.

We are currently doing a private share offering to assist with funding these activities, but would like to see if the crypto community would be willing to become our “Presentation Supporters” and help fund the presentations by purchasing Sm@rtVouchers™, IN RETURN FOR generous "STZ" CryptoCashBack™ rewards. Sm@rtVouchers™ are digital vouchers, which will be redeemable from January 1, 2020:

a) for certain SM@RT Consumer Merchandise Products,

b) for SM@RT Sustainability Consulting Services, or

c) for SM@RT Web/Digital Voucher Development Services.

CryptoCashBack™ Rewards

We will provide generous STZ CryptoCashBack™ Bonus Rewards, for every Sm@rtVoucher™ you purchase to help fund our government presentation development work. These STZ rewards are separate from the STZ rewards you can earn directly here on Crowdholding for Part 1 of this task. The STZ rewards we are offering for this optional Part 2 component of this task, are as follows:

Rewards for purchase of a $100 Sm@rtVoucher™: 1,250 STZ CryptoCashBack™

Rewards for purchase of a $1,000 Sm@rtVoucher™: 25,000 STZ CryptoCashBack™

Rewards for purchase of a $10,000 Sm@rtVoucher™: 500,000 STZ CryptoCashBack™

(B) NEXT, write a brief assessment of the brochure, what you like or don’t like and why;

The Front picture of the brochure looks good and attractive. I like the fact that you have attached the Funded project that you mentioned in it.

I don't know much about the project that you are doing nowadays or done in the past but if you have anything it will be great to share it as a gallery and make a strong point to show them that you have done it in the past and can deliver it again.

It will be a wise as well to put a plan in it, not in detail, but at least a plan to put forward to them to give them an over you how you are going to tackle it and also emphasize that if you had any obstacle during the project how you will handle it.

There is no mentioned of the team in it and what kind of resources you are going to use it to complete the job.

(C) FINALLY, give us your considered opinion on a scale of 1 to 10

I think currently I will scale from 5 to 6 but if you add the above points in the brochure then I think the scale will be between 8 to 9 out of 10.

Good look with the project.

I think this project is really going to breach the gaps between the crypto community and the national community. the idea behind this project is really great and I like to rate it 9/10

for the cover of the brochure in think, it needs a little bit of improvement so as to make the caption on it stand out properly

Embrace the future not to be scared of it

(B) The brochure is generally explanatory and well organised. I think that page 3 misses a title.

Page 6 shows a question. I believe this could be more powerful if you used questions for each chapter. Something like: "Who are we?" at page 3, "What do we do?" at page 4, "What projects can be funded?" at page 6, "What is our aim?" at page 9.

I was positively surprised to find a video on the first page of the brochure. I think it could be a powerful tool to explain better what to do and to convince people. The video is about tan investment gathering but probably you could also show another video about what you do. In both cases, I think it would be really beneficial to have a speaker: not just background music but a voice explaining what we are watching.

You mention that you want to send the brochure to Central American countries first, so why not to personalise it for them?

(C) 8 = the brochure is explanatory and convincing but it could be improved.

Hope you will find my feedback useful

Very nice project, this is a great project that I would like to nickname the great builder. I see this project as the bridge that will close the gap between the crypto community and the national community.

I went through the brochure and I found it really interesting, simple and straight to the point, it also contains enough information to make a person, group etc wants to know more. With the quality of the brochure and the information that it contains I Will say that it is an 8/10 for me.

Just to talk on the aspect of the design of the front cover, there can be some color twerk to the colors to make it blend more so as to make each character stand out more.

This project will go a long way in helping the planet a lot since most project are green project, and thus will attract more investor and organizations since more persons and groups are going green.

As Sm@rt grows they will attract more countries to participate in being greener. This is a great company with amazing goals that will take time to reach. Let's all do our part.

Instead of getting funding from the governments, why not avoid the politics? Instead, you can tokenize the project, and offer it directly to citizens  they don't even have to live in the cities themselves. They may want to support these types of projects, or encourage their implementation if there is a good case. And there may be other benefits if they visit there often or have a friend or relative living there. It's a different approach which may work.

Hi Fred,
....
Please take the time to read the information and understand what is going on before commenting.
....
If you did, you will have known that NO-ONE is "getting funding from governments". We are providing funding TO GOVERNMENTS for their infrastructure projects.
....
If you did, you will also have known that the projects ARE going to be tokenized, but on a secondary level.

In addition to my previous comment.

I would rate the brochure at 7/10. If more pictures can be added it will go another mile in boosting the chances of partnership from an external source, that will be more required for the implementation of the whole system.

And also if more information about the other members of the corporation can be added it will also be a boosters as investor will be able to rate the quality of services that Will be provided.

TOM STEEL guru

This is a very big project and it will go a long way in helping persons a lot, not just persons but countries and government bodies.

Looking at the brochure, I will say that the information provided on page 3 (the diagram) needs to be expanded and explained more. It looks kinda compacted and might be hard to follow the pattern of flow by persons. I will suggest if it can be done in a more exploded way and explained better in a latter page.

Looking to the the task two and the source of fund, I would like to ask the ways in which the company benifits from funded those projects and also in raising money. Because selling brochures won't be able to provide all the money that is needed to fund large scale projects.

SM@RT INC. new user

Hi Tom, thanks for your feedback.
....
Your comments re the diagram are noted. We have a note at the bottom of the SAME page that explains the sequence of steps. If there is still some element of a lack of clarity re the diagram for the minister viewing it, we believe a lack of "total clarity" creates an "appetite" for clarity that will drive them to agree to or request a meeting with us to "walk them through" things. The brochure therefore is a "teaser" that has to give just enough info to communicate possible exceptional value and opportunity, without providing 100% detail and clarity. It's a balance that needs to be struck.
....
Were noting all of the critiques and will be measuring response (or lack thereof) from the receiving ministers as we go along, and where appropriate, make adjustments.
....
your question - how our company benefits from funding projects and also in raising money?
We don't fund the projects, our network of project funders do the funding. We benefit by being allocated an equity stake in the funded projects, which means we share in the profits generated by the projects.
....
We have indeed been contemplating adding a "Human Resource/Talent" page that would include a number of people outside of our core team. A decision on that will be taken in the next week or two.
....
Thanks again for contributing Tom.

Update on part 1

Sorry for not giving my rating on the brochure. After considering the number of projects that SM@RT can actually facilitate funding for, the simplicity of the presentation and how convincing it is, I rate the brochure 9/10.

The very idea of such a brochure meets general expectations of the governmental authorities who are looking for better infrastructural opportunities. Once "sustainable development" is getting more and more fancy among city mayors, your brochure fits the topic. However, it seems the content is trying to cover all possible aspects of a sustainable city infrastructure. It is hardly likely any "target" minister (who, btw, works within quite a specific niche of his Ministry) can belive in your ability to become a one-fits-all solution for whatever sectors in a modern city that require urgent reconstruction and development. Just check your pages Nr 6 - 7: the list of projects is impressive, on the one hand. On the other hand, it might induce some sort of hesitation with regard to your "willingness to eat anything".

In other words, to be more specific in a narrower segment of services might attract a closer attantion to your offer. And a well-worn bulldozer as an illustration looks a little bit creepy, IMHO.

Ministers, governmental bureaucrats, city mayors, and the like all are very busy persons to read quite an ample text printed with quite a fine script - page Nr 1 is not for those guys. Wouldn't it be more efficient to focus on 3-5 burning topics of an average city infrastructure to convince your prospective customer that you are able to provide a sufficient funding?

And the last but not least issue for you to consider (or re-consider): where is your know-how? "Innovations" resonate "sustainable development" both in massmedia discourse and in the heads of your target audience (ministers etc). What is your "killer app"? Which unique feature can make a minister hang on your offer? Even if such a feature is available in the brochure, it is so blurred as to become invisible. Emphasize it!

Hope my comments can help. Thank you

SM@RT might be a one-fits-all organisation but it doesn't fund any of the projects it has listed. Instead, it has the connections and network which facilitates easy access to investors of any project you pick.

Thanks for your feedback Konstantin.
....
We don't believe that listing just 3-5 project types will be more advantageous. With our approach, the minister who receives and views the brochure would be more likely to pass it on to other ministers as well, when he or she notices that a project type is mentioned that they know is of great interest to another minister of government. That does not mean you are wrong, but we are going with our belief and will evaluate the effectiveness over the first year of dissemination.
....
The important point to note, as shared in the response to Kaaba at the very bottom of this page, is that the brochure does not seek to sell the minister on using our services. It is only to motivate the minister to meet with us to learn more details. If we fill the brochure with excessive details, we believe the appointment request rate would be lower, as people will form inaccurate opinions. It's human nature.
....
The brochure functions in the same way that the "presentation" of a man or woman entering a room works... make a positive initial impression. The man or woman does not have bits of paper stuck to their face stating their name, their age, their profession, likes and dislikes, etc etc. No, if you see potential in that first impression, it triggers you to engage the person to learn more about them. That exactly what we're doing here. If we list everything in detail in this brochure, it makes us seem "needy", like we're trying too hard to impress... which would give us an "inferior and needy positioning" in the minds of the ministers, rather than positioning us as an entity which THEY need to seek the assistance of. This is why we do not send ministers cold emails with the brochure, but instead have it shared with them as a "heads up" tip, so to speak, through people who are already known to them. At the end of the day this is all about "HUMAN PSYCHOLOGY".
....
Thanks again for your feedback... we will keep YHO in mind as we continually evaluate response to the brochure.

Part 1

I think your pitch (or presentation) is truly well written and explained. I'm very happy your funding advisory and project execution is exclusively available to countries whose government officials fully adhere to high ethical standards and conduct. It's no wonder therefore that my continent, Africa, isn't part because trust me, there's no way by which you can successfully carry out a project here (in my country Ghana) as a foreigner without kickbacks being taken. It's good you avoided that headache.

I had a bit of a problem understanding the diagram showing the infrastructure funding advisory and project execution. However, the key below the diagram did it for me. It fully explains how SMA@RT doesn't fund any of the projects but serves as the link between government and investors. I also realised you kept stating that throughout the presentation. Any reason for that?

I'd like to commend you on the list of sustainable development projects listed in the brochure. I say without an iota of doubt that my country needs every single one of the projects you listed. I'm sure the situation will be the same for most countries around the world. Also, the diversity of your working professionals is quite impressive. If I happened to be a minister of a country, this brochure will surely win you a meeting after reading. I am very confident that every minister or government official of any country will surely find your list of inexhaustible projects meeting at least one of their needs. An appointment/ meeting, I can assure you is guaranteed.

Part 2

I'd like to know when part 2 ends. I can't invest presently but want to do so in the future. Does part 2 also expire with the duration of this task? Can you purchase a SM@RT voucher say October?

Thanks for your contribution De Gem.
....
It is indeed unfortunate that bribes/kickbacks is so prevalent in Africa. One of our funders attempted to work with a few governments on the continent but ran into that issue every time. We can only that every major corporation with major investments in the continent has been willing to "grease the wheels" as the saying goes. The problem is, most of those corporations are not focused on uplifting humanity or preserving the environment as we are, its mostly all about making as much money as possible.
....
We reinforce the point about not being the funder because based on our market "positioning" online (LinkedIn etc), people always seem to assume that we are direct funders in alternative funding. While we do have the ability to fund projects on our own, that will only be as "secondary/derivative" funding AFTER we have a tripartite agreement between one of our primary HNWI/Family Office funders and a government, where SM@RT has an equity position in the funded project. At that point we will have the ability to leverage our equity to raise significant funds to invest directly into promising sustainability solution startups.
....
Thanks for your confidence in the efficacy of the document to achieve its objective.
....
Unfortunately yes, the Part 2 component ends when this task ends. It will be possible to purchase SM@RT Vouchers in the future, but they will not come with the very high level of STZ CCB rewards that we have made available for Part 2 of this task. The voucher quantities have been limited because of the very high CCB rewards, to preserve the high value positioning of STZ. That high value is legitimate, however, because 1250 STZ acquired today will have a "redemption" USD value of $32,812.50 by January 21, 2021 and can be redeemed for SM@RT products and services soon thereafter, as we complete build out of our first "smart city" project with one-of-a-kind "SM@RT HOMES" and sustainable/tech experiences. For these SM@RT HOMES (apartments, condos and villas), no-one with FIAT money will be able to rent them; that privilege will be reserved exclusively for persons who possess our STZ cryptocurrency which is the only currency we will be accepting as payment for rental of the properties. This STZ-only access limitation, forces people who want to enjoy our SM@RT HOME holiday experiences to EARN STZ, by taking Sm@rtActions™ that are positive sustainability-focused actions that are good for the planet.

What  is the most important thing in meeting goverment misters and winning large-scale infrastructure projects order?  Don't you know that promotional brouchure is not important? Most important facotor is depending on a well-experienced and technically efficient EPC company to form a fund arrangement that includes total budget, details of interest, construction costs, repayment periods and repayment methods, and the second factore is how well the SPC will actually be implemented. Have SM@RT ever won a large infrastructure contract as an SPC company? There are many facotors upon consideration to do this kinds of big-scale business.

Anyway, the promotional brouchure is very well made, but without description on the most important factor as mentioned above, whchi is just a single independence, and some of the ministers in the Caribbean and Central America (including local officials) are corrupt and some of them will ask their share (a kind of rebate).

No need to pay my all words to SM@RT becuause I don't agree with you aobut Part 2.
I'm honestly not interested in Part 2's "STZ" CryptoCashBack Reward or Sm @ rtVouchers at all.

Regarding to Part 1's SM @ RT Presentation REVIEWER. I just like it because it's very solid and clean. However, it was not great because there was no mention of SPC SM @ RT's performance (infrastructure construction orders, actual performance, and lack of detailed descriptions of suppliers).
My objective assessment of the possibility of meeting with the Minister is Scale 4.5.

Hi. Going over your brochue and here are a few of my thoughts.

Brochures are written to inform and sales ads are written to sell. I found specifics to be lacking in the brochure. Exactly where the funding comes from, the length of time it takes to grant funding, from funding to when the job will begin, and even what protections the government will have for choosing a provider through your connection.

The  brochure does create the need for a followup (if the reader is actually in the market for this funding) to answer their questions about specifics. I do not believe this will create a scheduled meeting since their time is extremely limited. It will more than likely elicit a phone call from a secretary or email to request more information.

I'd rate the brochure a 6. it may get a follow up just not the one you are hoping for. It was very well done, very bright, does not continually repeat the same information, but a little bit confusing on the "hows".

Hi Stephen, thanks for your feedback.
....
As per my response to Kaaba below (first feedback), there are limits imposed by the funders on what we can and cannot say, so lots of specifics is a no-no. Also as mentioned to Kaaba, the document is not a "cold" outreach, it is delivered through our connections that have some level of direct personal relationship with a minister. Please read my response to Kaaba for more context.

The ideas behind the brochure are really amazing and unique as it will lead to the development of great infrastructure as outlined in the brochure which was uniquely written will great professionality outlining all the important benefits of this project and the unique ideology behind the writer of the brochure.

Thanks for your feedback Karen.

We will pull up the red pages on a phone and assess the readability. Thanks for pointing out that challenge as in today's mobile first world, we don't want to frustrate a minister's attempt to read any part of the document.
....
Thanks for your confidence in the document's efficacy. I'm actually flying to the Caribbean for our first ministerial meeting at month-end, but that was not secured via the brochure. Both myself and another member of our core team went to school with the minister in question, so this first one was based on strong pre-existing relationship. However, the minister is being sent the document this week, to provide him with some initial understanding of what we have to offer, before we get together.

I read over your entire brochure. Not only is it professionally written, it is also beautiful! I found it very easy to understand and I do believe the government ministers you send it to will be very interested. Yes, I believe the brochure is going to get you those meetings! Adding actual photos of meetings gives a nice personal touch. I like that you listed an entire page of possible projects, rather than just naming one or two. I did have a little trouble reading the red page (though that could have been my phone). As always, I believe in your goals so good luck t o you.

I'm still thinking about optional part 2 of the task.

Hi Karen, based on your notation in your feedback, we've review the red page critically. As a result, we've elected to change the red background on the Global Investor Relations page to white for enhanced readability. It also delivers a softer, cleaner look that is more inviting. Thanks again for your feedback!

The document ia good and almost precise but more can be done. I liked the fact that you spoke about the consortium and it's composition. I also like that you outlined infrastructures that can be be funded. I noticed you didn't say anything about business registration, in terms of id and country of registration for reference. Also, for capital project such as the one you offer, the government will be interested in your packages with regards financing. Will you start with your own finances to be paid by the government later? What will be the percentage. Who are the insurers of your investment and who are your partners? and lastly, do you have any past projects to show, if not,  what sets you apart from competition.

I will rate the brochure 7/10

Thanks for your feedback Kaaba.
....

A couple of points.
....
The document is not to sell a minister on the funding, but rather to provide just enough info to pique their interest enough to schedule a meeting.
....
The document is not sent in as a "cold" outreach. We will be sending the document via our connections who have some level of relationship/rapport with a particular minister in each country we go after, thereby ensuring that the Minister will actually review the document and not toss it into "file 13".
....
The kind of HNWI project investors we are working with, are very particular about how much info we share about them and their specific funding programs and so they had to review/vet the brochure for us before we could use it. As there are different funders with different funding program models and parameters, it would not have been practical to put all of those particulars in a brochure without turning it into a small novel. But in any event, it is not allowed. Only the funders themselves can provide the funding program specifics to the governments. We are only the "bridge" that connects the government with the funders that are a good fit for them.
....
Re past infrastructure projects that SM@RT has facilitated funding for or built, there are none. Various members of our independent contractor team of specialists have been involved in large infrastructure projects but they were not executed by SM@RT. We ride on the experience and credibility of our team of specialists. Our value is that we can help secure the money to build what needs to be built. Experienced EPC contractor firms are all well and good, but what's more important is getting the money for the projects. Whoever can deliver on that most important need, wins. Expertise and experience can be outsources.
....
Case in point: In 2008, my small US company won a $1.56m luxury home construction contract, competing against 4 or 5 of the top construction companies on a Caribbean island, each of which had 15 years or more of experience. The point to note here is that when I won that contract, I did not own a construction company and I had never built anything, not even a dog house before. I won the contract because among other things, I went out and found a construction company, the parent company of which had built many skyscrapers in Asia and got them to write and sign a letter agreeing to be my company's sub-contractor for the project. Since the other competing companies had only ever built 7-storey buildings, there was no doubt that my sub-contractor with skyscraper building experience, could handle a 2-storey luxury home.

The fact that I added additional meaningful value, like sending an "investment proposal" instead of a "construction bid" like all the other companies did, where I explained how they could pay off the house in 7 years instead of 15 or 20; like promising to mount a hi-resolution video camera on a 60 foot pole on the construction site, so they could sit at home or at work in NYC and watch their Caribbean vacation home being built in real time, eliminating their fear of not being in control of the project; like making the effort to build an entire facebook-like private project site, so that all communications between contractor, architect, engineers, plumbing contractor, electrical contractor and the client would be all in one central place where everyone could keep abreast of the dialogue between parties, so that there were no costly surprises because someone wasn't informed about this or that change. Including all of those value propositions instead of just submitting a "quote", is what won me that contract hands down, as someone who had never built any construction project before. So it's not about what we have to show as past projects, its about the execution team we have assembled and what THEY have done before.
....
Thanks again Kaaba, for taking the time to provide thoughtful feedback.
