Sup Crowdholders - a belated Happy Easter to you all.

Most of us around the world are enduring some degree of lockdown right now, and one industry that has benefited from many of us being locked up in our homes is online gaming (and online entertainment in general).  With the online gaming platform Steam having recently announced a record number of users online during the reported Coronavirus pandemic.  And I have been among them.

To save a little money on my games I've been buying up secondhand Steam keys via GAMiVO.com, where I've grabbed some nice gems for as little as 20 pence.  And as a side-note I was pleasantly surprised to find that they accept cryptocurrency as payment, either via BitBay Pay, or Unikoin Gold.

So with that in mind my question is a simple one, if you are also a gamer, hardcore, or casual, what games are you playing right now to keep you entertained and/or what game(s) would you recommend to your fellow Crowdholders to keep ourselves amused during quarantine?

To get the ball rolling, I've personally been enjoying "Equilinox" this week, it may not be to everybody's tastes, but I've personally found it both soothing, and engrossing (don't judge me).  :D

Super Smash Bros. Melee and StarCraft: Brood War have kept me engaged for years and years. Magic: The Gathering is also a classic. I tend toward challenging games with high skill ceilings and thus high investment curves.

Maybe the world has stopped, but games have always been and will be
people have free time to start learning how to create games, each of us at least once wanted to create games
so why not do something about it

The best and best quality mod apk games at modded apk gamestoremobi are provided by a reputable website.

Modded APK's is promoting piracy and is illegal. 🤦🏾‍♂️

I've just seen console games on there and I'm now impressed with the site and it's prices. Surprised that I missed it before. 😂

I'm quite a hardcore gamer on various platforms and for many years but I really think the online subscription service Xbox Gamepass is probably one of the best value purchases I've ever made.

I also like the idea of using cryptocurrency to pay for games and the site looks pretty cool too. It will be great to see if they will add console gaming into the mix in the future.

My list of current fave games are:

Fight Night Champion: (This game is 11 years old and still remains the best and only boxing game currently available and 1000's of players still active online)

Streets of rage 4 (Classic beat-em up remake)

Efootball PES 2020: (Never been a FIFA fan, this is for the hardcore players)

Hyperdot (Frantic puzzler that I strangely find to be very therapeutic)

Fallout 4 (Great modding community)

State Of Decay 2 (Best zombie survival simulator)

GTA V Online (Unbeatable multiplayer modes)

What Remains of Edith Finch (Very short narrative-based game and probably the best story you will ever play)

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (All I will say is that I can't wait for the sequel)

The Witcher 3 (No list is complete without this game)

So to sum it all up I've been enjoying my lockdown with all these great games and hopefully some of you might find some joy in some of my picks. Any fellow xbox gamers feel free to add me.

For me, being a fan of football, I really like pro evolution soccer (PES) it gives me joy playing it and helps me have a feel the real deal as one can no longer watch it for now. I also play War games, Car race, and any Adventurous game.

A mobile gamer isn't a gamer in my eyes and for my personal preferences I recomend :

CS-GO with prime  to limit codded players.

VALDORANT a new CS killer.

Dota 2

One Piece Pirate Warriors 4

Heroes 3 Classic

Skyrim

Chess

Factorio - it may not look it but it's quite entertaining!

I'm unfamiliar with your list. You say mobile gamers aren't gamers. Since I'm not a gamer at all, please explain so I can understand. Thanks.

To a hardcore gamer most will have the opinion that somebody who plays mobile games is not a real gamer. Once upon time I thought the same but I now will beg to differ.

Mobile gaming has not only become a huge monetary gain for developers it's also been a great way to introduce new people to the world of gaming. Personally I think both the casual and hardcore gamers could find something to enjoy in mobile gaming.

Some of these mobile games have built huge communities of players who play these games all the time to a very high standard and I've met some great people through some of these games.

I feel that the person who wrote this article is an PC only gamer, hence why we were directed to this site with Steam games on there. They normally have this opinion of mobile gamers and it's pretty toxic in it's nature.

If you do enjoy playing mobile games, keep doing it as there's nothing wrong with it in my opinion. The fact you enjoy games is good enough for me and most gamers.

It's my preconception. It can apply to others with similar interests, it cannot. It's ok to have different opinions. That's a good way to start controversial stories. The concept of a game is like a good story, it has a beginning and an end. Mobile games are usually full of add-ons that can support the developers funding and with built-in micro-transactions. A trend that I see it's added in most new games right now, unfortunately so to make things shorter, if you pay money for your account you are one of the best, if not it doesn't matter if you're a good gamer or not. Someone with invested $ can overcome your hard work. THat's my personal motive for disliking mobile gaming.

I'd definitely recommend Animal Crossing.
Yes, it is kinda mainstream at the moment, but it is really fun to play and I neevr know where my hours have passed away.

If you are looking for some older titles, I would really recommend 'Detroit: Become Human' which I got into just recently. The art and detail is really good. Also the various storylines that can be played mean that you discover new things even while playing for the 5th time.

Also, the 'Half-Life' series was given an update recently, so you could check out the past games again and play the new one after that. It had me hooked when it came out.

I've had a fairly good list of things I've played lately:

  • Resident Evil 3 Remake
  • Final Fantasy 7 Remake
  • Mass Effect 3 (finally trying to finish it).
  • World of Warcraft
  • Random free horror games on Steam.

I used to play lots of games, though not anymore. Currently, I play FIFA and ProEvolution Soccer. I love football a lot so that shouldn't come as a surprise. Then there's Candy Crush. I play that to while away the time and also because it's instantly accessible on the phone. Other games I have the chance to play (because my friends have them) but do not are

- Mortal Kombat

- Grand theft Auto V

- Need for Speed

- Star Wars

- God of War

I spent most of my teenage years playing the early Mortal Kombat (and Street Fighter) games. Was pretty much unbeatable (if I do say so myself). :D

A friend recently gifted me Grand Theft Auto V - I've yet to play it, but it is on my list. ;)

Cheers for the suggestions.

Call of Duty: Warzone has been really fun to play lately, especially with friends as it is free, pretty high quality and has a nice learning curve to it! A wide selection of playstyles and awesome graphics. It is also can be played as a casual no brainer so there is that

Since you mentioned Steam, a fun game to play with friends is SpeedRunners. It's very simple but has a lot of fun tricks to learn and you can also play the story or online mode by yourself. I love the aesthetics of it as well. I think it's a good way to stay in touch with friends to catch up.

Other than that, I recommend classics such as Skyrim, Civilzation, and you can always kill boredom with some Sims.

Just checked out the trailer for SpeedRunners over at Steam, that does look like it would be great fun against friends. :D

Elder-Scrolls was a game I very much enjoyed, and of course the CIV series is as you say - classic. I've yet to really delve into The Sims games - but I can imagine it would make for a great quarantine time-sink.

Thanks for the suggestions. :)

I'm glad you liked my suggestions. For The Sims - I mostly enjoy the creative aspect of it - being able to build houses, decorate them and create people is what I like the most. It's really a time-sink as you say. :)
