Crypto Philanthropists and Beta Testers Wanted

Rewards

No YUP/tokens awarded

Dear Crowdholders.  Following a number of Pitch Investors Live themed tasks here at Crowdholding over the last year or so, which means that many of you should be familiar with the platform or at least concept by now - today I'd like to share a recent announcement from the PITCH team, and extend the invitation to any interested parties who might wish to get involved.

The Announcement

Registration is now open for interested applicants to beta test phase one of blockchain implementaion within the PITCH dapp.  You can read a medium article HERE that explains it in full.   But in a nut-shell phase one has a focus on "crypto philanthropy", through a tipping mechanism that will allow users to send tips in the way of tokens to entreprenuers and startups that feature on the platform.  And while philanthropy might seem like an almost alien concept in the world of crypto, with its focus on moons, and lambos.  A big part of the PITCH vision has always been about opening up the funding landscape to entreprenuers from around the world who might not have access to silicon-valley type investors.

For the purposes of testing the new feature beta testers will be awarded PITCH tokens (I do not offhand know how many so don't ask), and tipping will use CONNEXT technology which makes them gasless (so no Ethereum costs involved).  And while this could be considered to be phase one of a move to create the first live video crowdfunding platform, and beta testers are not required to give away all of the tokens they receive for getting involved - this is primarily an invitation to those with a genuine interest in exploring blockchain technology, and/or helping to fund (or even receive funding) some interesting projects and startups at no initial cost to yourselves.  While offering feedback and suggestions to the team.

And those wishing to get involved can sign up HERE (limited to 250 initial applicants).

Crypto Philanthropy

So what do you think Crowdholders - is this something you might be interested in getting involved in?  Any thoughts on crypto-philanthropy in general?  If you saw an interesting or deserving project in search of funding would you be willing to thow some tokens in for the sole purpose of helping an entreprenuer acheive their vision.  Or would you be strictly looking to get something in return?  Is there a place for philanthropy in crypto, or not, in your opinion?

And just to reiterate, it is my understanding that this is phase-one of the crowdfunding tech roll-out.  Atomic-swap technology is also built into the platform, that while not yet active, may offer up further opportunites down the line.   So whether you choose to get involved, or not, with the tipping beta, any tokens you receive from participation in this task will be yours to do with as you please...

My thanks in advance for your always useful thoughts and feedback.  :)

Wow, okay. This project has a high chance of becoming big. I'm into philanthropy and this idea is probably the most unique one I have seen in a while.

Hey Karen. It looks like most of the action is on Facebook at the moment. But the team did read the comments here and have set up a Telegram for non-Facebook users (I'm not much of a Facebook user myself either tbh) if that is preferable: https://t.me/joinchat/HjypDBdEIz1zWLchgC0phQ

This is good for me there is nothing bad in tipping a project i like when i don't have a large amount of money to donate or participate in such projects, want to ask if the tipping will be anonymous and if the tipping is anonymous hope there will be a kind of system were the person tipping will be acknowledged for his tip.

This method is good and it follows the saying that little drops of water make a mighty ocean, i will say that this project will also help speedily small scale projects that needs little start-up money to commence their project.

and this method will also ensure that pitchers bring out the best in them so that even random viewers will be able to tip them, if their project is very good.

This method is good and i am sure that it will bring out very positive results.

Hey Rapheal. Many thanks for the feedback. tbh I'm still not quite sure how it all works myself yet - it should be going live soon. They have mentioned that the tipping will be aligned with a "rewards system" of some kind (I'm imagining something like Kickstarter) - guess we'll find out soon. :)

I am a Mechanical Engineer with expertise in power and Mecha-tronics. An Entrepreneur

This is good, I am not new to the word philanthropy but I am quite new to the term crypto philanthropists, even though the meaning might be slightly different here I think that it holds the same underlying tone for both of them.

While tipping is good it is also a very good way for a new business to start something new and good and with this starts-ups will have to do a lot and bring out quality products so that they will be able to get tips investment for their projects and programs.

For me, I will surely tip a project that I see and find useful and also i will also be very willing and happy to post my products there in order for others to help in my project.

But in all this, a kind of reward systems should also be made like awarding points to those that tipped so that there will be a kind of gratitude to those that tip more and to make it more worthwhile the points can be used to do other things there on the website like upgrading the user account or for getting certain privileges this will make the tipping more fun, more competitive and also more likely that people would want to tip.

A very nice improvement though i think that this will surely see a lot of improvement in the different projects and users there.

Great feedback, Naruto. Thanks for taking an interest. :)

Word is that there is a rewards-program to be rolled out. I don't personally know the details of it as yet - but I suspect it might be something similar to that which you described. We'll see. More details to follow...

Is this something you might be interested in getting involved in?

Yes. This is a great initiative with a very bright future. Currently, my work schedule won't allow me to participate immediately. However, I'll definitely join in the fun later tip well deserving entrepreneurs - live! I'm just a little sad that I won't be part of the first 250.

Any thoughts on crypto-philanthropy in general?

This is the first time I've seen the word even though I know a lot of crypto philanthropists. I think a lot of upcoming entrepreneurs, creators and innovators can depend on it to promote their products/projects especially if they don't have access to the megabucks from investors and venture capitalists. This idea is a big one. The only problem is, it might take a few years to catch up with mainstream shark tank and dragon's den viewership. Imagine if shark tank had an ingenious idea like this one. Crazy! But this is PITCH so let's see how far crypto-philanthropy goes.

If you saw an interesting or deserving project in search of funding would you be willing to throw some tokens in for the sole purpose of helping an entreprenuer achieve their vision.

Of courrrrse! Not every one is going to get funding for his/her project from investors. When such happens, the onus falls on the crowd to support. I definitely throw in some pitch tokens to help.

Or would you be strictly looking to get something in return?

No.

Is there a place for philanthropy in crypto, or not, in your opinion?

There is a big place for philanthropy in crypto. I think it's been present in different forms for a long time. Airdrops is one such form and crypto crowdfunding platforms have been in existence for more than four years now. So yea, it is.

Appreciate the awesome feedback as always, De Gem. I think there have been around 250 pitches on the platform to date, so it's definitely gaining some traction. Hopefully a bright future ahead for all involved.

Jump on whenever time allows. I have no doubt the team will be happy to have your involvement. :)

Tried with this project. Applying process is pretty simple. They just ask 10 simple questions that too Multiple choice questions. Took less than a minute to apply for the beta tester. Awaiting their reply.

Just a common Crypto enthusiast.. Wait crypto is not common it's special :)

This sounds really promising and I agree to some extent to your thought that most people in crypto space are drive by monetory greed and Lambo dreams but there already are many socially driven projects as well. There are several projects launched in Africa and Asia which are aimed at improving the lives of impoverished and suffering people and there are people who are investing in them.

I signed up for testing as I like getting my hands on any new project in the crypto field and philanthropy link will mean a positive karma as well in the process :)

I am not on Facebook so I hope this is not a mandatory requirement. I am shocked why you are even using Facebook group as an option as Facebook is totally against what crypto and philanthropy stand for.

Hope I can start testing soon. All the best!

Thanks for the input and enthusiasm, Sam. And you're right - there are definitely some great altruistic projects in the space deserving of praise. :)

I'm not much of a Facebook user myself (though I do keep a skeleton profile there) - the PITCH team did read the comments of yourself and Karen and have created an alternative Telegram group for those who don't use FB: https://t.me/joinchat/HjypDBdEIz1zWLchgC0phQ

So consider yourselves invited to join should you wish to. :)

This sounds like it could be a great concept. I read the article on Medium and like you said, it explains everything. I signed up thru the link above. Happy to see we can use our phone! I also downloaded the Pitch app. The signup process started off way but then there are so many questions that don't pertain to me so luckily, I was able to 'skip' those sections. I hope that doesn't disqualify my application. Good luck with this project.
