Who Would Make a Great Crypto Shark?

Dear Crowdholders - for my latest PITCH themed task, today I'd like to ask you all who, in your opinion, would make a great "Shark", from the crypto-universe?

If you're not yet familiar with Pitch Investors Live it's essentially Shark Tank, online, with cryptocurrency elements (being built upon Ethereum).  Featuring original Shark Tank investor, Kevin Harrington (among others).    And if you're familiar with the television shows Shark Tank and Dragons' Den, you'll know that the Sharks are traditionally made up of successful business people from the world of traditional finance.  Fielding pitches from hopeful entrepreneurs in search of investment, advice, and support.

But the crypto-world has its' own prominent figureheads and leaders.  From the legendary John McAfee, and his dubious promises of eating his own appendage should Bitcoin not hit a given price-point, through to Binance's, CZ.  Ethereum's Vitalik.  The ever controversial Justin Sun of Tron.  And a multitude of other notable Crypto-Twitter/YouTube influencers, and beyond.   Crypto has no shortage of prominent characters.

But who, from the world of crypto, would make for the most interesting Shark?  How you decide is your decision to make.   It could be the most entertaining, or the most informative.  The most accurate in their price-predictions, or the most worthy of blockchain evangelists, or platform founders, etc.

Let's hear your suggestions, and why...   :)

And if you're a Facebook user - you can also catch up with the latest live pitches and news: HERE.

The founder of ada is an interesting person but for the most part it is the people outside of crypto that may have the best crypto ideas.  It's the fintek people in particular that can hit the homeruns regardless of whether they use crypto or not.

Just a common Crypto enthusiast.. Wait crypto is not common it's special :)

I think John McAfee would make the best Shark as he is a really charismaric personality. He is really funny and even bordering crazy at times so there will never be shortage of entertainment for the viewers. He is really bold and is never shy of speaking out his mind. He has the courage to speak something which is against the popular opinion or what the goverment agencies are trying to impose.

To top it all he is also an intelligent person who has been around in the tech industry for a really long time. You can love him or you can hate him but you can never ignore him.

Thanks for sharing! The Facebook only chosen platform for the live video was curious. It seems to be a great project but I would prefer that all these power from advisors and network could be used to fund DAOs and Daps with potential to shake de market. Thanks and good luck again!

I'd have to say Gordon Ramsay. I know he's not big on crypto, but for the entertainment value alone it would be worth it.

In my humble opinion, the best shark will be a good investor with a high understanding of cryptocurrency concepts, uses and scalability. John McAfee will make a great Shark in my opinion. He fits all these criteria.

Changpeng Zhao will also make the cut as a shark because he has a wealth of experience investing and trading in other cryptocurrencies as well as creating the Binance Coin. You could be a good investor but not see the potential of crypto and you could be a creator but not a good investor. Warren Buffet, for instance, won't make the cut as a Shark for crypto even though he's a billionaire. Mark Zuckerberg even after his ongoing stint with Libra won't qualify as a Shark for crypto in my opinion. I'll consider Elon Musk though. He foresees what a lot of people don't see and will definitely possess the ability to envision what most crypto projects will look like.

Coming down to lesser known public figures, there's a guy called Marius Kramer who writes on cryptocurrencies on Quora. He's dubbed himself "the number one cryptocurrency writer on Quora" and his answers have millions of views. He also manages crypto funds and shares his investment tips on the platform. He'll make a very great shark in my opinion.

Then there's Alistair Wallace of the Pynk platform. Most of you know him as Al Wallace on Crowdholding. I think he has enough experience investing in crypto and also a very useful insight into how crypto works and will pan out in the future. He'll make a good Shark.

I'll also consider Tim Prior of Crowdholding a great shark owing to the number of crypto projects he's suggested working on.

Then finally, there's Ethan. Ethan I know you'd make a great crypto shark. Your partnerships and creation of Crowdclick alone is proof.

This is my opinion though and you're cordially invited to agree or disagree with them.

Elon Musk! Great idea....I wonder what Al Wallace would say about your suggesting him? You have thought of quite a few possibilities.

Great list of candidates De Gem. Particularly as it includes myself. :D

Elon Musk is an interesting one. You'd think with his futuristic-vision he'd be all over blockchain. Yet, while the crypto community spend a lot of time and energy trying to coax him on board the crypto-train, he hasn't as yet had a whole lot to say about it. I believe he briefly (possibly jokingly) mentioned Doge coin as being his favorite.

John McAfee would be a personal favorite of mine - and I even set the PITCH team the challenge of trying to get him on board. No word as yet, but I remain hopeful...

The only one I'm not familiar with is Marius Kramer, as I'm not a big Quora user. I shall look into him.

Awesome well thought out list - thanks for sharing! :)

So what do you say Tim? Will you be a shark?

Marius is good. And he can be very objective. He'll make a fine shark. There are a host of other unknowns I could have suggested but I think this is fine.
As for Elon, I understand the distance he's keeping from crypto. He has the ability to understand ideas from whole new perspectives people don't even think about so if he jumps into it, I know he's going to make strides people have never imagined.
If you actually set the PITCH team to get McAfee then you're no small personality Tim. You have my extra extra respect.
I'd like a biography or excerpt of how you started your investment in crypto.

I think Zack of Pynk is more focused on inclusive investing for all. Also, don't think he's into crypto as a main area of investment.

The most obvious candidate would be Satoshi Nakamoto (actually even better he should be the first guy to pitch his idea. That would be great TV)

Problem with this idea is that a lot of your sharks would need to be great businessmen and not really great developpers, so someone like Vitalik may not fit well and you would probably end up with people running exchanges like CZ or Coinbase's Brian Armstrong

Bingo! I'll admit the most prominent candidate slipped my mind when I listed some examples above, and then popped back in shortly after. I was hoping somebody might give him due credit. That would certainly make for a mind-blowing show. :D

I suspect had he appeared on Shark Tank back in the day Bitcoin might now be appearing on those YouTube compilations of the ones the Sharks regret saying "I'm out" to. Or would they have seen the potential(?)... :)

I hope this doesn't sound too crazy but.........Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West would be great sharks!!!  Kanye has given Kim BTC as a gift. Kanye is very outspoken (and gets private meetings with US President Trump). Kim is a major influencer! They both have huge followings and tons of money to invest!

Kanye West? That's a surprising choice. I'll look into his giving Kim a gift of BTC.

Karen M guru

Surprising, maybe...But do you think he'd be a good shark?

Interesting suggestion, Karen. And not as crazy as it might first appear. :D

I remember back in 2018 the whole crypto world waited in anticipation of Kanye's first Bitcoin-related tweet, after he tweeted out "Decentralize"... Additionally one of the industries most prominent evangelists "Pomp" spent a long time trying to woo him, and bring him into the fold. https://www.dailydot.com/debug/pomp-kanye-west-bitcoin-blockchain... So you're certainly not alone in your thinking.

They could make quite the crypto power-couple. :)

No I don't think so. He won't make a good shark. But I believe if he gets to understand most cryptocurrencies and how they work, he can apply it to his businesses and also help in making it mainstream. But a crypto shark? No.

Cz would be the best shark. He knows how to market a product and has taken binance to great levels in a short time.

Vitalik is a great coder but don't think he's a great investor.

Sun is the worst choice. He's still like a rich school kid wanting toys from his friends. If he can't get them he buys them. Not a single good product from Tron yet but he bought BitTorrent.. Which I thought was good but it's become a useless token.

Great insights dr dent. I tend to agree that of those three Cz would be the best fit. And arguably one of the best possibilities overall. Hugely successful in the space. And I'm sure in addition to funds he would have a lot to teach.
