Do you have any ideas about how we should monetize Tutorland.de? Currently, we charge a commission for each lesson. Please let us know, if you have other ideas.

You should probably offer a membership for monthly rates and some possibility for students to save money. E.g. discount, depending on their success or bonus for inviting a friend.

Ok, this is a good idea. If there is a monthly rate which reduces the price of the private lessons, this will be an additional incentive for the students to use only Tutorland.

Good idea!

Thank you for the feedback. Short example of our current monetization strategy: We are a marketplace. A student pays 10 EUR for his lesson. The platform charges a commission of 10%, so we keep 1 EUR and the teacher receives the rest, which is 9 EUR. Furthermore, every teacher sets his own prices which differ for individual lessons and group lessons. A segmentation is possible, if the teacher writes in the description of his courses, what kind of students are preferred. The question here is: Any ideas about alternative monetization strategies? We would like to find other ways for monetization and make the platform commission-free even for teachers.

There is no doubt you should get a commission and charge one of the participants for using your platform. If you want for teacher to be without charges just make sure you add the commission (8-12%) and student pays according to a price which was arranged between two sides. It is like a tax from the government while there is an elastic demand with inelastic supply

Currently, we think that it's fair that the teachers pay the commission, but you are right - at the end of the day this indirectly leads to higher prices which the students pay. So we want to add other monetization strategies in order to eliminate the commission...for example a partnership with a company which sells books through our platform.

I guess you have segmented your customers. individual studies should be charged differently than a group studies. adult should be charged with different amount than a student. it is a bit tricky question, do you charge all your customers with the same commission no matter the age or status of a customer?
